  • 240Z Corbeau Seats came in

The seats I ordered earlier this week came in today! They look awesome, though they are now in the basement still in the shipping box. I'm not about to put them near the car right now, not until I get the grinding/welding done so I don't cover them in dust/rust and crap!

  • Cleaning up the passenger floorboard

I spent some time this evening cleaning up the passenger floorboard. I have a LOT of welding to do there! I'm going to do some more practicing tomorrow. To view tonight's video click the link below http://www.project240z.com/tabid/54/itemid/20/Cleaning-up-the-Passenger-Floor.aspx

  • New URL for the Project 240Z

I may not have worked on either of the cars lately, but I didn take a few minutes and purchase yet ANOTHER domain name! http://www.project240z.com I hope to actually track the project's status over there with a place to feature all the videos and other information about the car.

  • Project 240Z Update?

What's the latest on the Project 240Z? Not much! With the wedding and Holidays I haven't touched the car much since the last work I did on the parts car in October, I did get the 240Z out of the driveway, moved it to a secluded shop over in Illinois for some winter storage. I'm glad I did, otherwise it would have had a nice coating of ice and ...

  • Re: Off to get married!

Cole: Lehman, you crack me up. I actually thought a combination enclosed horse/car trailer would be a great idea with a small dressing room that might double as a hotel room (horse folks already have these). A two-horse trailer is wide enough for most cars but has a padded wall running down the middle that theoretically could be removed. I've ...

  • Project 240Z - Starting on the Parts Car

I got started on the parts car this week, a 78 280Z 2+2. Yesterday I put in about an hour's work in on the car, it may not seem like much, but between that hour and the hour I spent on Sunday, that's 2 hours this week, prior to this week I hadn't put more than 2 minutes in over two months. So yesterday I started disassembling the ...

  • Project 240Z work begins again!

I finally got to working on the SM2 project today. I didn't do much, but I got over a big hurdle. I got the 240Z moved out of the garage and moved the 280z 2+2 into the garage so I can start tearing the motor out of it. I also removed the hood and hinges from the 280, fit the hood onto the 240. That was another concern, if the hood would ...

  • Sold, and gone....

Well, my 2003 350Z Enthusiast model is officially paid off. It is also no longer my car! My buddy Jasyn "Dozzle" Randazzo took a train from Kansas City to St. Louis last night and drove the car home today. I talked to Dozzle this afternoon, he made it back to KC and was out and about showing the car off to friends. Have fun with her ...

  • Rollin on Dubs!

The new ride is now rolling on 20s! Why you might ask? Because they were a great deal at the time of purchase. I have these wheels and the stock set of wheels/tires to put back on when the weather turns for the worse. Between the 5 cars in the driveway/garage there are 20 wheels and tires on the ground, that's in addition to the 12 extra wheels ...

  • Project 240Z The Motor Is Pulled

Well, it's been just over two months since I picked up the Project 240Z from Krekeler. Today I successfully pulled the motor and transmission from the car. It took me a few hours today, in some of the hottest weather of the year. If you watch in the video below you'll see I aim the fan at me whenever I move around the car :) Also in the video, ...

  • Project 240Z Engine is almost ready to pull!

Project 240Z Engine is almost ready to pull! I got the driveshaft disconnected today and the transmission is free of its mount. I just have a few things left to do, mainly hook the hoist up to the motor so I can pull the whole assembly free. To do that though I need to go buy a new change. The chain I've got now, from Krek, has some huge hooks on ...

  • Project 240Z Update for July 8th 2006

Well, it's been nearly a month since I last worked on the 240Z, had a few events in there, July 4th, and various other activities keeping me away from the car, but mostly it was just me being lazy. So today I spent a couple hours out in the garage wrenching. I got just about everything left that needs to be disconnected to pull the motor ...

  • Drove the 280Z today

Well, after yesterdays post of getting the Z fired up I couldn't help myself but to take the car out for a spin. I hooked up the e-brake again, figuring if I couldn't get the other brakes to work that would at least let me slow down if necessary! Once I had the e-brake hooked up I took the block out from the back wheel and started the car up. I ...

  • Fired up the 280 today

I spent the afternoon running around town. I first took the battery from the 280 into Autozone, hoping it would be able to take a charge. Of course it didn't, so I ended up buying the cheapest battery I could. I also picked up a siphon kit and a gas can so I could drain the tank a bit. I got some new gas, put some in the car, along with the new ...

  • A rainy Z day

Just a quick post. It's getting late, and I'm sick so I should probably take some nyquil and hit the sack. I picked up the new Z today, tonight actually. Thanks to Dave from SoloPerformance.com for lending me his services again, just like last week. We got the car home around 8:45 this evening. After a few minutes of trying to get it up the ...

  • Adding another Z to the stable!

How many Zs is too many? I hope not 3, because Sunday evening a 3rd Z will be making its way to the driveway! I'm picking up Lynn's 78 280Z 2+2 for parts. So, that begs the question, how many Zs is too many? I also came across a website that has quite a few custom parts that I may have to acquire for the project. www.arizonazcar.com has what ...

  • 280ZX L28ET Oil Pan Removal

I took the oil pan off the L28ET motor tonight to try to get inside and see what all I could find out about the motor. I've posted a few pictures over in the 240 photo gallery, check them out, let me know what you think of what you see. http://sccaforums.com/photos/christoc/category1053.aspx Here are some of the recently uploaded photos.

  • A new project! 1973 240Z

Dave and I went and picked up the newest project today. A 1973 240Z, and also a 1983 280ZX motor. Here are some pics. More blogging about this project and its future later tonight! I'm off to take part of the L28ET motor apart and see what it looks like on the inside. http://sccaforums.com/photos/christoc/category1050.aspx
