Trying to find a source for M18x1.5 spherical rod end

As title says - need to find a source for a couple rod ends, 18mm hole, M18x1.5mm thread. Hardened steel if possible. Tried Aurora Bearing as they had them listed on their website, but they said the would have to make 20 of them in a batch. I only need 2.  :(

Let me know if you can find any other sources for said item. Thanks!

    Have you tried Aircraft Spruce?

Yeah, no luck there. Any other ideas?

Anyone have a good Asian or European source for this stuff? May have to look global for odd metric items. . .

Heh - Good Luck finding anything over 16mm Stateside! I have a piece of equipment that's made in the Netherlands at my work - uses a 24mm rod end (well, actually it uses 53 of them). Thought I could source them easily myself, to save the ~250 euro shipping, or at the very least find a 7/8" or 1" version and convert it to that.........

I still buy from the OEM, 5 years later. Only, I buy enough at one time now to cover my estimated parts-usage for a few years at a time - shipping nearly doubled every time I bought them - tho the parts price stayed the same (in Euros); but the exchange rate is worse.

Maybe you need to change the other end?  Rollseyes    Replacement may become easier that way.

It is for one end of a custom front control arm, so not changing that ;)

Found it! Not as strong as what I wanted, but it will work for now :)

Jarrod, that's what I was going to suggest, bought some larger (20mm) sphericals from them recently for my control arm...they have a LOT of oddball stuff! The quality is not anywhere near Aurora but I think it should be fine for autocross... Good luck with the build.

I was hoping to find some hardened steel alloy ones - as I bent one and want a stronger replacement (part of my trouble in Toledo). BUT - I can't complain - the ones I found are only about 1/4 the strength of the Aurora ones - but at 1/6th the price I can replace them a few times and not complain! :D

So how's your car coming?? Ready to rock and roll in 2010??

A good source of metric spherical bearings is www.fluro.de, which are sold through hrpworld.com.  Fluro does list the rod end you specify, in PTFE-lined stainless - http://www.fluro.de/PRODUKTE/GARSW18Druck.htm - don't know whether it's strong enough for your needs though.

Not affiliated with either company - I've just had great service from Fluro bearings on my car.

You design seems to be more succeptible to bending unfortunately...not sure if you're using the same CA's as in Toledo though. Hoping you won't have any more issues, especially if you're going with a bit bigger heim...(is that correct?)

The celi is on a slight hold right now, building  daily driver mr2 for now.  The celi should be on heims this year, hoping that will resolve some of the issues I've been having past few years running a mixture of stock and poly bushings.  Looking forward to seeing you guys again this year!  Doing any pros or mostly tours?

You may want to try Brits: http://www.britsinc.com/

They won't necessarily be "value priced," but they stock top grade components.  I already bombed through a "second best rod end available" in under five months and just replaced them with an NHBB rod end.   I'm hoping that lasts a couple years.
