    Re: HS mini setup?

Hoosiers 40-42 ft, 48-52 rear depending on surface and shock setup. And they are faster than the K tire : P Dont know if you have any already, but I am selling my shocks fresh off the 09 National Champion GS Mini. Front and rear D/A custom valved Koni's. Rebuilt in 08, won Nats 09, trailered home, then taken off the car one autocross later.  Also selling some SSR's as well. Getting ready to list up in the for sale section this weekend.  Jeff Jacobs and I run almost the exact same setup, and he was one of the fastest HS cars in the country. (R56 Cooper)

Having been Jeff's tire warmer, I will attest to that one of the easiest HS cars I've ever driven.

    Re: HS mini setup?

710's vs Hoosiers.  Pressures are going to be quite different.

I assume that's with adjustable shocks that allow you to stiffen up the rear suspension?

With stock shocks, I needed maximum toe out (a bit over 1/4") to get decent rotation with my MINI.

    Re: HS mini setup?

On my GS Mini, here are my pressures. I too have essentially the same shock build as Tony and Jeff.

In my testing, the Hoosier was about .5 sec faster than the Kumho, but the Kumho got twice as many runs before cording.

    Kumho: 42F-55R

    Hoosier:  35F-38R

    Re: HS mini setup?

Well FWIW...when we ran karter's 06 Mini...we had the Chiles valved konis on it...minimum rear camber and 1/8" toe out in the rear. 1/8" toe out up front and max camber (I don't even think it was adjustable).

It worked VERY well. The toe out in the rear and taking the camber down to like -0.4 REALLY helped the car to rotate.

    Re: HS mini setup?

I never ran toe out in the rear, but taking out as much rear camber as possible makes a huge difference in the car.

    Re: HS mini setup?

Holly smokes Greg, you forgot what pressures you normally run AGAIN. Normal pressures on the the A6's for use were 41 front and 56-58 rear.

    Re: HS mini setup?

On the kumhos we ran 46 front and 56 rear and we always ran 1/8th total toe out in the front and back. Very little camber in the rear always made the car very twitchy during normal driving. If you want a good comprimise set the rear at -1* camber, gives you good tire wear on the street with good manners on the street and the track.
