Fat fingered the June 13th date...oops.

Connersville had initially approached for Father's Day but apparently they've already voted on July 18th according to Raleigh so that's where we're putting it...

    Re: 2010 Solo Schedule

I don't know if I will be able to make it to the meeting, but I would like to express my interest in having the April 11th be a Grissom T&T as proposed earlier. I think it makes a lot more sense for getting everyone back in the game. Big, wide, sticky site with lots of runs vs. tight, slick, obstacle-infested site with few runs. I know I would get more warm up from a Grissom T&T.

The rest of the schedule looks fantastic to me. Thanks to everyone involved in getting more sites. 5 sites!!!

The main reason cited was the possibility of it being too cold. Farmer's Almanac says the last 3 years (including 2009) it has been in the 50's around April 11/12. Not sure what the ideal temp is for R comps to get up to temp....but I think 50's might be too low. And that is the high temp for the day...not an average.

But the weather in Indy will be about the same.......and the alternative is 16th street. Those same R comps would be used on a site with lower grip. Something to discuss at the meeting (which I can't attend). I got no dog in the fight either way, since I will be on call that weekend for work anyway and will miss it.

All valid points and I'll be sure to make this a point of discussion tomorrow night.  I really have no dog in this fight either because I'll go regardless of T&T or event just to get the car out.  It's seeming like there may be enough of a push for it but I also put the word out to FWR via Jason Massey to see if he could gauge interest there as well.  I may contact SBR also with a heads-up.

    Re: 2010 Solo Schedule

When I was in managment of this gig, the advice I was given for the first event being at 16th street was "the first event is a much bigger test and shake-down of the people, work processes, and equipment rather than any cars."

It's not easy to remember how everything works and how the event work needs flow after not Soloing for 5-6 months.   It's a real bummer to burn the higher costs of Grissom on an event where everything goes wrong, rather than a cheaper, in-town 16th street event.

I'd wager the event would be more lightly attended at Grissom...but then that may be a good thing, as there's a feeling of less pressure to execute the event if there's fewer people around.   Maybe it's a coin toss.....

    I can agree with that.

I notice only 7 points events, that seems fewer than in the past.

We only had 7 points events last year.  If another event is the consensus, I can probably squeeze one in somewhere during the season.

    Re: 2010 Solo Schedule

The number of events tradition has been 10 total events, with the 1st and last being non-points events - so 8 were for points, BUT one of those was the Aussie.

Past management had a way to assign entrant points as per final Aussie results, but lots of people didn't like the result on their yearly season stats, so the Aussie was dropped as counting towards points sometime around 2005-2006.

Therefore, for the past several seasons, there's really only been 7 points events.  I think that attendance of the Aussie counted slightly somehow, but I don't remember how.

With the addition of administrating the Subie event and staffing the National Tour, we're up to 12 weekends.  Adding in the GL Div champs at Grissom makes it 13 weekends.  That is a lot, guys... I'd be worried about worker burnout by adding any more.

BTW Scott - you may want to contact the Subie guy to inform him of next year's schedule - INCLUDING the club races so that they can hopefully schedule a non-conflict weekend.

Nope. It is going to be coupled with a Test & Tune at Grissom. You will be able to do one or the other or both. T&T will be on the main course and the Aussie will take place simultaneously in the usual paddock area. There will likely be a couple separate Aussie brackets to allow drivers to do both formats if they want. The details of the event are still being worked out though I believe.

Can this be posted on the Indy Region facebook page?  There may be a calendar, or it can just be posted like you did here.

I may just run in the Terre Haute event.  I will say there will be a shortage of hotel rooms around this date as it is the time of the Covered Bridge Festival so if you are staying in a hotel, get a reservation early for the last one in TH.
