    Winter Karting League

I'm looking for a winter karting league to join here in the off season.  I just moved up here in July, and have only been to one Chicago event (I would have gone this weekend if I hadn't been so sick).  Does anyone here do anything with karting in the winter?  I know the Minnesota club I learned to autocross with has three or four different leagues, what about up here?  I have some people I ride motorcycles with interested, so if there isn't anything already established, I might be able to combine interests to get something started.  I'm probably looking at Chicagoindoorracing in Addison since it's closest to me.

Down in Chicago is Chicago Indoor Speedway where you can join a league I think.  Otherwise some of the Milwaukee solo guys went down there about once a month to keep the edge.  Me, I moved to Texas to drive in the winter Big Smile This brings up a good idea though, when I'm back for Christmas break we should get a group together and hit up CIR!

Better name the day so we can start planning!

Yeah, last winter we had three different "outings" down to CIR with varying amounts of participation.  If we get a date planned ahead of time, maybe we can do the same thing this year.  I'll be glad to help plan, too.  Anyone interested in going have a preference on days of the week (Saturday vs. Sunday)?

I'll be in Wisco after the 18th but probably won't be available until after Jan 1rst.  My vote would be for Sat the 9th.  What does everybody think?

    Re: Winter Karting League

Keep in mind that track arrangements / options vary by day.  The Track 3 option at Buffalo Grove was only available on Sundays.  Of course, CIR would be happy to arrange other track configurations at our cost.  I think most of us would agree that T3 is the way to go, although I want a chance to run it in the other direction Cool  I sent a message to CIR to verify what track options are available on the weekends so I'll post something as soon as I hear back from them.

Oh man... I'm gonna have to start working out in order to survive the endurance run again.  That was rough.
It's going to an interesting season...

Way to remind me.  Bring gloves this time... I had blisters on my palms after 30 laps!

j/k  I would be interested in heading down again.  We need to do it when Colin and Canak are available to have some skinny fast guys to chase Wink

    Are you calling me fat?

It was interesting noticing that all the people in the consolation group were uh... larger.

We need to figure out a way to equalize the weight.  Maybe all of the anorexic people should wear weighted vest... =)

I didn't think I was that big.  I thought I was just that slow. :P

Rob, if you're talking to CIR, maybe we could check if they have ballast available?  Otherwise we'll have to settle for swinging by a sporting goods store and buying ankle weights.  Who's bringing the scales? ;)

    Re: Winter Karting League

Who's weight is the magic roof for the ballast?  100lbs worth of ankle weights would be funny to see Canak walk around with.  Zip it!
