    Lime Rock video

Congrats to Brian on running a great race, I had nothing for you. Hopefully David and Ken are ok after their crash that caused the race to end under red. Near the end of the video Dave spins out in front of me, Payson must have been right behind me. LRP is no Evo track but I had a great time.

Darn! Can you say off road vehicle! Wow!. Can't imagine doing that with my vette and surviving. Looks like crazy fun. How bad did David get whacked? And is he okay? Too bad because you guys had a great battle going . .

    Re: Lime Rock video

Here is a set of photos from the off exiting turn 1...then some other photos after the accident. As I stated in the other post..."Both drivers were transported to medical and believe were taken to the local medical facility in Sharon, CT. Upon leaving the track we were told that the Lotus Driver David Brand was released with no major injuries (except to his wallet). As far as Ken Payson, I am not sure if he was released but indications are that he had suffered a broken neck or back (not a 100% confirmed report).

The photographer from our team said David got out of the car fast and appeared to stagger across the track without initially looking...he almost got tagged by another racecar! Thank god he got missed. Also, take a peek at the bent steering wheel on top of Payson's Miata.

Our prayers are with both drivers for a speedy recovery."

You pass Ken at 8:30 the lap before on no-name. David spins at around 9:12. I would have expected those few SMs to be a good 5-10 seconds in back of you at that point.

I am hoping this official race result is not so official.

I hope Brand and the Miata driiver are ok. Nasty looking crash.

Marty, that was just a fun race video to watch.   you guys were really dicing it up.   I am suprised that the 350Z just checked out.   Limerock is a big old carting track though.....I guess.     I really enjoyed when you guys were dodging the Miata land mines.   They were freakin everywhere.

    Re: Lime Rock video

According to what others have said in the SS thread, the order at start finish on the lap before the red flag is the finishing order. Unlike NASCAR, there are no scoring loops other that S/F.

    Re: Lime Rock video

Im sure both Brian and I were  past SF prior to the RED flag coming out, or are they saying every car in the class has to pass SF prior to the RED even if they are lapped?

    Marty:

I'm guessing that David was in front of you as you guys completed the lap prior to the spin/crash/red flag/shortened race.  If so, he was in front of you for the last scored lap and that's how the GCR handles shortented races.  If not, you may need to investigate further.

    6.7.5. Shortened Races

    A. If a race is stopped at less than fifty (50) percent of it’s scheduled time or distance and is not restarted, it shall be considered incom-plete. Championship points shall not be awarded, and organizers shall not be required to distribute trophies or other awards.

    B. A race that is stopped at fifty (50) percent or more of its scheduled time or distance, and not restarted, shall be scored as a complete race as of the end of the last completely scored lap (even if that lap is less than fifty (50) percent of the scheduled distance).

Great run, Marty. I told you there would be some great video and here it is Cool

Notice how bad the motor sounds after a few laps. Still not sure what happened - we haven't opened it up yet, but I'm sure it won't be pretty when we do.

    Looking forward to the Runoffs!

    Re: Lime Rock video

Nice video Brian, and like always it was great racing with you.  Boy I looked sloppy those first couple of laps! I was hoping to get up to speed a bit quicker on the slicks than I did after all the rain in quals. Oh and the Miata's were a pita but they sure kept things exciting.  Now we just have to see David's video, I'll give him a call to see if he can post it.
