    ST Brian Davis
    STS Shahab Sakha
    STS Gus Hammerly
    STS Geoff Chambers
    STU Jason Proksch
    STU Chuck McMillion

I would have liked to have seen even more - a lot of people are missing out on an event we are very lucky to have so close.

Some of us are doing the Friday mini-Evo school. I don't know if anyone is doing the full Evo Thursday. Is there anything to do Friday after the TnT? Are we just done at noon then?

I'm getting pretty excited... Party!!! 285 entries!! (hmmm, I like the number 285... Wink) I hope the course is similar to the last event's - loved it.

John, are you taking pics again this year? Another possible cover shot?

I assume it is safe/allowed to leave the car overnight, right? Can someone give me a ride home Friday?

    Re: Peru Tour 2009

I'll be on Tech duty on Friday so not sure if I'll get to run any TnT.

My plan is to drive the Saturn up Friday and leave it there all weekend.  There shouldn't be a problem with that as far as I know.  My wife is coming up and we'll just use the Cobalt as the support/commute vehicle for the weekend. :)

See you in Tech Scott!  I'm putting the Honda on my tow dolley, and borrowing my wife's van which will double as sleeping quarters.  Haven't used my tow dolley for over a year so hoping all the lights still work.

I should be able to give you a ride Jason. I'll be driving to and from grissom everyday, plus you live down the street from me so that should work out well.

Saturday = not fun (stoopid rain)
    Sunday = great fun!

Here's to a speedy recovery for our Solo Chair, Phil Wehman (bike accident on Saturday, broke hand. Before he got to drive. Sad )

Best wishes to Phil - sorry your weekend went so badly! Last update I heard was he had one shattered bone rebuilt with epoxy, and another bone set, bruised ribs and lots of scrapes. Could have been alot worse, but certainly very serious. Hope Phil makes a quick and full recovery so we can see his beautiful Lotus and smiling face out there again really soon.

The event went beautifully. Courses were great, schedule was well maintained, everything was setup well, grid was excellent. I don't think it could have been any better (weather excluded).

Saturday = against 5 AWD STi's at Lake Grissom, really not fun ---> result: last place by a mile

    http://www.vimeo.com/5473230

http://www.vimeo.com/5473446 (you gotta see this one - I tried to push it on my last run and the results were disasterous - but funny to watch. Believe it or not, it was a clean run!)

Sunday = under perfect conditions, really fun ---> result: 2nd place in STU for the day (and top 50% PAXCool... for the day) with a run I know could have been a lot better.

http://www.vimeo.com/5473334 (camera malfunctioned on my best run, but here is my 2nd best by half a second - BTW I think asphalt on the turnaround was the better way to go)

I haven't had a chance to look over the results, but Indy looked to have done quite well.

Chuck won STU despite being beaten by a RWD car on day 2 Angel(... in case you didn't get the subtle smile there, that RWD car was me Stick out tongue) Chuck had a truly brilliant day 1 drive in the heavy rain where he crushed the SM national champs by a second and nearly got Clemens (all running wet tires). If there were a 5th Heat PAX for day 1, he would have crushed the field. He beat me in what I thought was a decent run by more than 6 seconds! Will and Brian had very good day 2's with Will coming back from the rain runs on bald tires to pick up a trophy. Geoff got 3rd in a super tough STS class. I know there were a lot of other great performances, Steve T., Raleigh, Clemens, Lamm, Turner, etc but I haven't had a chance to review it all.

Extra special thanks to everyone who went the extra mile - like Raleigh&Velma, Geoff, Will, Steve Brinkeroff, Shahab, Clemens, Chuck, Travis, and especially those that didn't even run - like Jack Banker, Dave & Pauletta who worked almost the entire event for us! I am sure there were others too. We have a region that is the envy of the nation and put on a hell of a show!

    Re: Peru Tour 2009

Indy Region rocked this weekend. This was my first Tour at Peru (usually I do a high speed autocross in the Detroit area on the 4th and do family stuff all week). Great courses, nicely organized (and spacious) grid, plenty of paddock even with the large number of entrants, and excellent hospitality (the hot dogs on Friday night and the sandwiches on Saturday were a much appreciated surprise). Even with all the bad weather on Saturday, having the Sunday course set up so folks can walk Saturday evening was great. Your Region did a lot of planning and put in a lot of work, and it showed. Absolutely first class event. Thank you.

    Re: Peru Tour 2009

Clemens won BM (only him and Dan showed......wonder if everyone is just scared of them now?)
Mark Lamm and Randy Turner finished 1-2 in CM!! Awesome.

Thanks for the kudos.....Brian and I just went out like it was a new event Sunday and tried to win the day. Turns out we were 2nd and 3rd on Sunday behind class winner Jesse Caudill (who is pretty darn good.....finishing 3rd at Nationals last year). Dave OMaley had the class covered by a second in the rain on full tread Toyos, but didn't get a clean run on Sunday and dropped to 3rd. Fellow Great Lakes competitor Jeff Mabrey stayed in 2nd all weekend, and was only .003 behind Brian on Sunday, and Brian was .077 behind me. So 2nd-4th on day 2 was a difference of only .080! Caudill had me covered by .481 on Sunday.

Thanks, Nick! I think you could have beaten me though. It was a solid run but not a fabulous run and Chuck definitely should have beaten me, but he was off a bit. 3 runs is tough. I know there was a lot more time out there - I feel I could have dropped another second with a couple more runs. I was lifting on the sweepers as I didn't feel confident enough when I probably could have held more - plus a few turns were off (wish one of my 2 cameras would have worked for that run). But, I do think I am getting better with limited runs. Both days my second run was my best and I felt pretty good about each. Kevin Kent is the only STU driver I have yet to knock off at least once!Devil

Chuck still managed a 98th overall PAX despite our rain soaked 5th heat Saturday. It was like the rain had no effect on him - truly very impressive (...and horribly frustrating Stick out tongue ).

Wish you could have been there, Nick. You probably would have loved the rain - drive it like Walesboro.

I wish I could have been there too.  Well I could have, but I had to choose between Peru or Toledo.  I should be saying, I wish I didn't have to choose!..  Here were my options:  Pick 2 out of the 3..  Peru, Toledo, Stay Married.

I love driving in the rain!  A loose sliding car is sooooo much fun to me, well in AWD where it's never completely out of control.  I doubt I would have had anything for Chuck on Saturday though.  Hopefully Sunday would have been a different story.  Very hard to know.  That's why you play the game.

Kevin is a monster.  Jason, when you beat him... not if, you will have accomplished something great!

The one thing that comforts me at night...... poor driving on my part on day # 2.... Not sure how I got lucky enough to not get the cone called on run 1...
