thedrumm: I have looked on the SCCA website, but can't find where it is written. At what age can someone drive a car at a SCCA Solo? I know a minor must have both parents sign, but what age is a minor? Can a 16 year old come out & drive his/her car at one of our events?
Thanks,
I believe 15 with a lerner's permit is the minimum for a car. However, if they only have a permit, a licensed driver must be in the car with them at all times. Under 18 with a license has to have a minor waiver on file, and at least 1 guardian on site with them at the event. Darren's niece is co-driving with him this year, and only has a permit. He has to be in the car during all her runs.
edit: not specifically in the rulebook, but same laws as driving on the street.
Cheers,
