    NPR Charity Race Corner Workers

Hey guys,  No Problem Raceway is still in need of a few corner workers for the April 18th & 19th Autism Charity Race.

You get FREE lunch both days, FREE BBQ on Saturday night with entertainment. And for this event they will have porta-potties

at each station.  This is the third year of this event, last year they raised over $28,000 and looks like its going to exceed that this year.

As of 4/8/09 there about 55 cars entered, 12 formula cars, 3 Panoz Coupes and a various assortment of Vettes, Bimmers, Camaros, Firebirds

and few Mazdas ( 1 RX7 with an LS1 in it, very fast ).  I know there is a lot going on that weekend but if you are looking for something to do this is

the closest you can get to being on the track without driving.  If you are interested, or need more info, contact me on my cell 601-967-7414, or

the F&C chief at NPR, Tom Miller @ 225-229-3819-cell, 225-751-3819-home.  Thanks, Ricky Ricks

    Ricky,

I won't be able to make it this weekend. Please keep an eye out for the shifters that may or may not be there for me.

Re: NPR Charity Race Corner Workers

Cheryl and I went for all three days and had a blast.  Walt and Terry Roddy from Natchez were there sat and sun.  Walt bought a 944 race car and was doing the solo lapping part of the event, he is planning on doing  wheel-to-wheel next year.  Ralph Wicker and Steve Melton were there in the #24 Monte Carlo, Ralph qualifies it and Steve races it.  Steve finished 2nd in Super Production both days and won the class championship for the year.  I broke a rear upper shock mount on Saturday and took a wild ride through the grass and got stuck in the mud (rained Friday night), and on Sunday I won, thank ya, thank ya very much, and finished second in class for the season.  I had a race long battle with Allan Simpson from New Orleans,  we were never more than 2-3 car lengths apart all day.  He even hit me in the right rear corner spinning both of us.  it was a fantastic weekend with more than $58,000 being raised for St. Mary's School in Alexandria, La, it is a residential school for kids and adults with Autism.  Guys, put this on your calenders for next year.  There was a lot of good food, good music, and a lot of bench racing (BS) after some great racing on the track.  The rumor is that next year it will have festival type of atmosphere, one of the organizer told everybody that if they raised $50K there would be a ferris wheel next year, he is now looking for a ferris wheel.  Also, a rumor that I may get to drive a Corvette next year, truly a rumor at this point.

Hey Brian,  Robbie Poupart did not know of any karts for sale at the moment.  I got his phone # but lost it, can't find it... I'll see his dad Saturday night and get it again.  In the meantime, saw this on the SCCA forums.
