Would anyone like to report on weather conditions?  Was it just wonderful all weekend?

Warm & Sunny but very windy conditions most of the weekend.  The course tends to gravel up pretty badly throughout the day, so it was important to be familiar with the "dirt lines".  I think they were packed up and done by 2 or 3pm on Sunday (like, cones are done and SCCA trailer is on the freeway), so most runs in just 3 groups were AM or around lunchtime.

Huh?  I'd say partly cloudy at best, not sunny. One short period of full sun Sunday morning.  Low to mid 70's until Sunday afternoon where it finally touched 80.  "Very windy"?  Only during the afternoon on Sunday.  Breezy otherwise.

Other than the start, I did not see the course gravel up that much, unless you were way off line.  And I ran third heat.

    Here's some weather history.

Saturday was cool, with a cool, wet wind. When the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, you could get warmed up, but I don't think the track surface got to 80 degrees in the first two heats. Sunday started mostly clear (a cold front passed through Sunday morning), and as the day wore on, the winds picked up to gusts of 35-40 MPH. If you turned in too late into the sweepers, or went into some of the slow parts (again, the sweepers), you tended to go eat some gravel. If you weren't greedy for speed, you saw much cleaner conditions. We have seen the track get more gravelly as the day wears on, at regional events, at least. So afternoon heats don't seem to have as clean a course as the morning heats, but I think that is mostly due to the new patched areas coming apart. The surface was swept before the event, and the course was blown clean before each day's runs, so that helped a bit. Gene Beaird, Pearland, Texas

I remember being sunburned during my work assignment (2nd), windburned and unable to open my hood/trunk for impount (3rd) and never wearing a jacket.  But H-Stock Warp Speed also tends to warp memories Stick out tongue
