The possibility of having to cancel this event has been raised. The registration numbers are low, and it's suspected that there are a bunch of people waiting until the last minute to register. In order for this event to happen, they need more entrants. So if you've been thinking about signing up, I'd encourage you to do so ASAP. The Arkansas folks are a great bunch, and Mid-South will have a big presence there, I'm sure. We had a great turnout this past weekend, due in part to neighboring regions like Mid-South coming down for our event. I'll put it this way: It's healthy for us to have a good bit of inter-region mingling.
The Divisional and Tour events put on by the Arkansas region have always been great for getting a little bit more competitive. You're competing within your class for trophies, and often for contingency money. All it takes is a competitive car and a good driver. I had neither when I went to Walnut Ridge in 2006. But I learned a lot and had a lot of fun.
If for some reason the event does have to be cancelled, I'm sure you will get a full refund, and you'll have plenty of time to get a refund on a hotel. So if you're even considering going to one of these events - and this will be a good one - go ahead and sign up.
