Re: Atlanta Pro Solo Index Results
Hey Rick. Thanks for posting the results! Is there any way to run the report with normal PAX/RTP factors? Since this wasn't a normal Pro Solo and since Pro Solo indices are screwed up anyway, the regular PAX/RTP index might be interesting to see. Thanks! Mike

No doubt. This was my first Pro in the CRX and I was pretty shocked by the handicap STS2 is given compared to STS. Who makes those things up anyway? Rick, they should adopt your index. :)

Re: Atlanta Pro Solo Index Results
I've discussed, with the SCCA, using the PAX/RTP Index factors for the "Pro" events. The factors do seem to be more meaningful than the Pro Solo Factors. I realize the format is different and could (should), require different numbers, but the ones adopted seem to be substantially awry and the PAX/RTP numbers seem to be much closer. :-( I even suggested that they wouldn't get a ton of flak about the factors because they didn't come up with them. :-) At any rate, SCCA insisted on using their own factors.
The Atlanta Pro used side-by-side courses, or two different courses? Or, were the two times used from morning and afternoon?
Please let me know.
Thanks, with H's & K's, Rick Ruth

Re: Atlanta Pro Solo Index Results
The Atlanta Pro course was one course with two cars on course at the same time. The left "start" had about a ~50 foot launch then an immediate ~110 degree turn back to the left with about a 25 foot radius. The right "start" had about 100 feet of straight before you made a 90 right then a 90 left. So, when it came down to it, it very much was like a Tour course on the left with the start the way it was and more like a Pro on the right, but not terribly. Times were used from morning and also afternoon. The course just rubbered up and got warmer by a mile in the early afternoon. -MK

Re: Atlanta Pro Solo Index Results
I guess what I'm trying to understand, is what to call the first row of times, as opposed to the second row of times? In a normal Pro, they would be left and right, but I don't know what to call these. Or, should I just Index them by the best single run? What does the total represent?
Thanks, with H's & K's, Rick Ruth

Re: Atlanta Pro Solo Index Results
The first row of times is the left side. The second row is the right side. The first run on each side was done in the morning and was really just a look at the course and a test and tune. In the afternoon, competitors got two more tries on each side. The total is the best run from each side added.

Not that it matters, but where did my name disappear to?
I would have liked to have had that index

Sorry, Christopher. You and one other (Christopher Rotenbe) got eliminated, somehow, when I did the PAX/RTP versions. It so happend that you two had the longest names. That me have had something to do with it. I don't really think it had anything to do with being a "Christopher". :-)
At any rate, I have replaced the three PDFs in the posts, above, as of 5:00pm CST.

I would hope that the "power"('s) that be at SCCA would take your offer to help with the PAX numbers in the future. I think using your numbers with some small tweaks to classes such as BSP, STU, STX and other AWD dominated classes for the launch advantage might be better than the numbers we have now.
BTW, it's obvious your numbers are more accurate.

I re-checked and discovered that I had not recalculated the right side, at all. I have replaced the Right Side PDF above. Sorry and thanks Dan.
