Well, the time has come once again to try & find a home for my beloved Galant VR-4. I had it up for sale for a bit last year as I was going through a tough time. Things got better for me so I took it off the market thinking I would do a lot of track days this year. Well, my passion is autocross, & now would rather use the funds from this car to campaign a Miata of some sort nationally. So, here is a rundown of what the car has...
1991 Galant VR4, #1303 of 2000 imported, 4G63 turbo 4-cyl, 5-spd, AWD & 4WS, 150K miles, 2 owner CA car (no rust or paintwork EVER!), original leather seats included all in very nice condition, even includes numbered plaque on the dash as well as the original numbered keychain (very rare). I originally set this car up for DSP autocross in 02-03, but quickly realized how outgunned I was against the BMWs. So, I decided to build it up as a fun street car that I could take to open track events. Here is a current mod list....

There is probably more that I have missed, but as you can see a lot of time & effort went into this car. The best part is, other than the front bumper, nothing was cut or damaged in the build-up, so this car could be put back to stock someday if these things prove to be the 69 Z28 of the future. Included with the car are most of the stock parts, including the original leather driver seat.
What it needs..... Well, it could use a good tune first off, as well as some better I/C piping. I have tuned it by the seat of the pants as there is no AWD dyno anywhere close to me, but I know it is set up very conservative & could make a lot more power. A few of the exhaust manifold studs are stripping, & there is an oil leak at the head where the feed line to the turbo taps in. The body has some light scratches & a few dings but is otherwise very nice. Other than that there is some sun fading on the top of the back seat, but that's about it.
The way the car is currently set up, I have autocrossed it locally in SM although with the competition we have here in Northern CA it is obviously not competitive. However, I do believe the car has a chance in DSP now with the unlimited boost allowance (was not the case when I ran it 4-5 years ago). It would take a little work to get it DSP legal (radiator, BOV, turbo, transmission, front bumper), but with modified fenders for 285s, a diet & the right tune it could be a 2900-3000 lb 300WHP all wheel drive contender. If it does not sell this time around, that is what I will do with the car for next season.
In the mean time, asking $7950 for everything.....I have over $25K invested. Will entertain possible Miata trades, either a 94-95 R package or possibly a 99 Sport, but leaning towards getting back into STS2 with a base 1.8 car. If you have any questions shoot me an email or give me a call.
