Hey all,

New user here. Joined SCCA a couple weeks ago and ran my first Auto X last weekend. Had a blast. Can't wait to do it again. My question is about my car #. When joining SCCA, one of the things said on the web page was I'd get a permanent #. At registration for the event they gave me a number to put on my car. Is this my permanent # (I assume permanent means just for the year with an option for next year?) or just the # to be used for that weekend?

I'd like to get a magnetic # and quit using the tape method but how do I know what # to get?

The permanent number you got when you joined SCCA was your SCCA membership # (six digits). Some regions allow you to register for a permanent number. It's up to your region, not to the SCCA at large. I'd get into contact with one your regional autocross director/chair and see whats up with them.
