I'll probably be picking up a set of wets and steel wheels. I wish they were only $800.
I see you've withdrawn from Walnut Ridge.
I hate to be the guy that says "spend the money" but the additional cost of a set of rains and wheels over the cost of developing a Mod car, travel, and other competiton expense seems to be fairly small.
I recently bought a Mod car and during pricing discussions I insisted that the rains and extra wheels be included.

Yeah, I had a conflict with getting enough time off of work. I had Nancy at SCCA swap my registration to the Houston event. Plus we will do Huntsville. Hope to run into you at one of the events.
teamfour: hesitant to spend $800 for an extra set of wheels and tires.
Since I'm usually not in the trophy hunt at large events but I Iike to get my money's worth, what about trying street tires on a formula car? I'm thinking Sumitomo HTR200s - less than $50 each for 13"s. Yes there are radials / yes, they are heavier. Remember, it's wet.
I had these on a DD and enjoyed them (all 34000 miles). It would be really cool to have dual pattern wheels made: 4x100 for the DD and 4x130 for the FSV.
