I would like to invite everyone to Atlanta for the South East Division Solo Series Finale on November 3rd and 4th at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  This event will follow the Solo Nationals format, feature two unique courses and have a Saturday Night Social at the DD Tavern, (first round is on the house!).  Even if you are not in the hunt for a Divisional Trophy this year, this event should be on your list.

So come for the camaraderie and competition and bring friends... its gonna be a hellva time!

The Finale will also serve as an organizational jumping off point for the 2008 series.  It is no secret that despite a great deal of effort put forth by event organizers from throughout the division, the Super Regional series was not the roaring success many of us had hoped for.  Personally, I believe that the Southeast has the resources to have the strongest series in the nation.  However, it takes more than resources to develop a successful series.  It takes a shared belief that the recreational, competitive and social attributes of these events make them a priority. It will take time to grow our series to such a level, however, that time can be greatly reduced if the participants’ have ownership in the series.  

I am happy to serve as your Divisional Solo Steward, but this is not my series.  It belongs to the membership.  Soon there will be a survey available online to help determine what direction is best for our series.  In the mean time, I want to hear from the membership, either via email, or in person at the Finale event.  I want to know what you want from your divisional program.

Do I have to “qualify” for this event or can anyone run it?
- ANYONE can run the SEDIV Finale that is an SCCA member- ANYONE!! The champions will be the drivers with the most points over 4 days of competition and the Finale, but ANYONE can run the event. ANYONE!!

So the DD Tavern… exactly what kind of a place is this?
-Sports Bar, honest. They have agreed to put out a bunch of appetizers and cut us a great deal on the first round (the division will be picking up the first round tab). Don’t forget to tip your bartender!

Can I leave my stuff on site?
-Yes, trailers can be dropped on Friday, after 5PM and left over Friday night.

Will there be Tech and Check in on Friday?
Yes, at the Best Western, 8:00-10:00PM

Couple more questions for you. Which section of the parking lot at the Atlanta Motor Speeway will we be using? I imagine the parking lot is huge and is probably broken into different sections/sectors (do you have a map?).

Also, who are the course designers? Will course maps be posted prior to the event?

Region of record will be checked before the Finale, so make sure you have a SEDiv region listed. If you're a dual (or triple or whatever) region member, and you're not sure what your region of record currently is, go to scca.com and use your member login, then click "check my membership." It will tell you which region(s) you belong to, and which one is your region of record.

Please remember that only those who are SEDiv members at the time of the Finale are eligible for a SEDiv championship. To win the Divisional Championship, you must attend the Finale, and of those in the class at the Finale, have the most points. You do not have to have any points before attending the Finale.
