thanks guys. I know I left time out there. At this point it will take something crazy to win. Drew is doing pretty damn well for someone who doesn't like r-comps. he had a bit of an epiphany this morning when he was driving. it was something like: "that's how you drive this car!"

    Re: Solo nationals

Well, JT brought it home for the 14th time!  Congrats again JT!

On the other hand, I sucked it up this year.

Congrats Brian...keep it up, there's always a chance to pull it out.  And Drew, you're not far out of the trophies either.

    Re: Solo nationals

Hmm, this doesn't look quite right...

We had a bit of a mechanical failure: The strut housing snapped. We both felt like we were driving well relative to the limits of the car, but we were significantly off the pace. We don't think that the housing actually broke until the last turn of Brian's last run, but it was definitely acting squirrelly.

So Brian dropped out of the trophies and I dropped out of contention. A big thanks goes out to Scott Main for lending us his trailer. And much congratulations to JT for his 14th title. Watch out, I'm coming after that record (starting next year)!

Aww...tough luck, guys.  I was wondering what happened when I looked at the results.  There's always next year.

    Re: Solo nationals

The newly found camber looks about right ---- for left turns on dirt.

Glad it didn't happen while you were at speed on the highway.

Is this a common problem with WRX's?

And ya'll both were in there for the trophies during your first trip to the nationals. This years experience will certainly be a great help next year.

    Re: Solo nationals

it was an aftermarket part. it fatigued right along a weld and pretty much snapped the strut housing in half and bent the koni shock. As Drew already said, I am very glad for Mr. Scott Main's generosity (spelling?) as we would have been up a creek without his trailer.

Sorry to hear that.  I was working the course when you guys were running and wondered what the deal was.
