    They took everything

    Another theft

    Posting for Mike Gilbert

    ************************************
    Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just had everything I own related to racing stolen from inside my race trailer. It was parked and locked. The only thing that's not stolen is the car - it was at Landshark. I had a couple of sets of wheels & tires, every single tool I've ever owned, brake pads and rotors, jack, impact wrench, all fluids, all spares for a Spec E36 car, all electrical and mechanical stuff, about 16 totes of spares, tools, etc. Everything gone. They left me my fuel and $10 jack stands from autozone.

If anyone sees a rash of stuff up on ebay in the Boston MA area or hear of anyone trying to sell a bunch of racing stuff, please let me know. My whole life's worth of tool collecting - gone. Everything. What a great idea I had to get a real mechanic's tool chest and leave it in the trailer. It's empty. Luckily it's just stuff and not people or damage to my family or friends but it still sucks.

Please let me know if you hear of anything.

    Thank you for your help,

    Mike Gilbert

    Re: They took everything

Sorry to hear about your loss.  It takes a lot of money and time to accumulate racing stuff.  Check your homeowners policy, its likely they will cover theft.  Be sure you have a copy or two of the police report for your loss agent.  Also check a BMW list if there is one as things show up there too.  Expensive stuff can also show up on www.rackingjunk.com  Good luck on tracking your stuff down.  We use case hardened locks on our trailer but even that doesnt help when they take the whole rig as in Stan Wilson and Paul Browns case.
