I don't know if anyone else saw this, but it's bugging me, so I thought I'd point it out (and warn some of the folks heading out to the run offs)...
On Friday, I purchased the "special" shirt deal they were offering (twill long sleeve embroidered shirt, shot glass, and pin) for $28. I had no desire for the shot glass and pin, but since the shirt was marked at $30 on the display, it was a better deal, so I got the other things...
I was quite surprised when I got home, unpacked and noticed the sticker on the shirt said $20 (the sticker does seem to match the shirt. size is right anyway). It would appear that I was duped into spending $8 for a shot glass and pin that I didn't want.
It would appear to me that they either: a) raised the price on the shirt to create a "sale" and move some other products that weren't selling, or b) raised the price on site because they had a captive market. I've been involved in retail and I realize these things happen, but IMO, this is unethical or at least disrepectful to customers and is not behavior I expect from a business endorsed by our club.
<soap box mode on> This is the last dollar I plan to spend with this company. I just thought I would warn some of the folks heading out to the Runoffs to beware of this company and unless you really feel that you have to have one of their products, boycott them. Maybe if they are stuck with a lot of worthless dated merchandise (especially if they realize why), maybe they will think twice before ripping off the membership again... Retail businesses need to realize that they are nothing without the customers they depend on. <soap box mode off>
