Salina, KS, Nationals 1989: My first Nationals as well. Left Tennessee in sunny, 89 degree weather, suitcase full of T-shirts and shorts, maybe 1 pair of jeans. Arrive in Salina, it's freakin' SNOWING!!! OK, where's the walmart??? Gonna spend half my food budget on winter clothes!!!
Moultrie, GA, 1996: My most humorous memory is of everyone walking the course in matching blankets, all of which somehow resembled the comforters from the event hotel... bet the maids were CONFUSED that morning!!!
