What kind of gas for my stock cr125?

What kind of gas for my stock cr125?

What kind of gas should I use in my stock cr125? It is brand new and the shop I bought it from said that pump gas (93 octane) wouldn't be ideal. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

If not 110 unleaded at least 100 unleaded.  I've heard anywhere from 24/1 to 32/1 mixture ratio, I've been good with around 28/1.

Thanks Jeff. I'm assuming leaded 110 would be fine as well since VP's website recommends that for shifter applications. Would anybody care to comment on leaded vs. unleaded?

I would assume the new motor has valve seats made of modern material. (I feel so stupid)  Unleaded

I would also think the shop you bought it from would provide more support.

Where might you be running this new fancy Kart Brian?  I heard there was a Kart @ Bell Chase this weekend   That wasn't you was it?

    Valve seats?  In a CR125?

Stick with leaded if possible. Besides, its hard to find unleaded beyond 104 octane.  But 110 leaded is available from VP or Torco from lots of sources.

I use Torco 110.  If you want to find a distributor near you, try this:

    http://torcoracefuel.net/dealers.html

I did that a few years ago and the distributor was able to point out several gas stations in my area that carry his fuel.

I ended up getting some Sunoco 110 from Hyperfuels. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Joe, that wasn't me. I'll be at every event possible from here on out tho.

Re: What kind of gas for my stock cr125?

Is that Turbo Blue 110?  I used to use that from Sunoco before the local station switched over to unleaded 104 octane.  Strangely, the place I get my Torco 110 is a Sunoco station.

    Good luck.

Re: What kind of gas for my stock cr125?

I can get the turbo blue as well (TB and Sunoco are made by Sunoco).

The only real difference with them is probably just noise at the time of testing....but the TB has a slightly lower reid vapor pressure # than the sunoco...and a slightly higher gravity. :)  Other than that they are identical...

There are other fuels here that I run from time to time that I sell...(VP U4.2 and Sunoco MO2X) but they really only seem to make a noticable difference for me in the heat when I am down on power. :)

I wish there was an easy way to run (and wish it was legal) alcohol in the kart too...I got a ton of that and it's WAYYY cheaper :)
