Wonder how those dates coincide with the 'Huskers home games for next year re: hotel rooms? 

 

The hotel room did cost $20 more to stay Friday the 11th, presumably because of the football game.  But the total bill for the 5 nights was still very reasonable.

Most of us don't drive tire-eating Mini Coopers.  

We dealt with it for years at Salina and Forbes, we'll deal with it again.  The downsides are far outweighed by the upsides.

Rooms for my crowd are now booked; had to work at it a little harder than I expected.  Since this is an 8 day stay, something slightly higher end than a roach motel is a necessity. Usually the room of choice is at a Hampton Inn, but the Lincoln Airport location is $209 per night for 9/4 through 9/6, and then again on 9/11.  Didn't reserve for that highway robbery price.  Found something decent though for $105/night home game weekends inclusive, basically the same price that we spent in Topeka last September.

Sounds like the most pragmatic decision has been made and am looking forward to the 2009 events.

For RV'ers, I guess it's going to be a "Solo City" kind of deal, like at Forbes? Any thoughts or ideas on this from those that are close to the situation? ...I like to bring my own hotel room.

Does the SCCA get any special rates and where?  We booked at the Holiday Inn Express North for $84.55/night ....but I'm sure we could do better with a group booking.

 

Also - can anyone in the area suggest hotels that are clean and in a good neighborhood nearby?
