Tie for the win?  'splain lucy!

Tied out to the thousandth. Howard announced something about using a tiebreaker to decide who won and the official results would show that it was won by a thousandth.

Interesting!  any idea what the tie breaker was?

They used the 2nd fastest run of the 2 which went to Kevin Royce.

    David Lehman:
BS-----the guy Trevor Hill I believe lost his DC appeal of the protest, but took a solid BS win with his A/C back in the car, as I believe he didn't provide the necessary paperwork.
Just to add my $0.02 on B-stock at the Toledo Pro...

The winner, Travis Hill (Trevor Hill is his brother who finished 2nd in DS) re-installed the entire A/C system into his 968 prior to this event as well as the rear wiper & rear wiper motor which were also missing at the DC Pro.  He did lose his appeal from the DC Pro due to lack of paperwork.

I look forward to running against Travis in the future.

Or as some might say:  "To get the car legal."

No, not quite the same. Run a car clean. They wouldn't have had to drag me and others to look at the car.

I'm with Matt.  I talked to Travis in Toledo and he understands where I stand on this issue -- as a fellow BS competitor, I fully supported the protest in DC, but now consider his car to be legal after seeing the 'fixes' he made prior to Toledo.

    Funniest moment of the weekend.

Jr. and Courtney are paired up against eachother in the super challenge running Rod's Z06 (jr in asp and courtney in SM2) so they each have to run seperatly. Courtney run's first (and is pulling 1 second lights?).

When Jr. gets up to the line I see Courtney run up the other side of the timing trailer with his helmet on into the staging lights against Jr. and starts making car reving noises. which i think were louder than the Z06 as i could hear them all the way on the far end of the course.

Here's a pic.  Note that Courtney is properly staged. --Andy

Yeah, sorry the "I was DQed in DC for lack of documentation not for an illegal car" ship has sailed. The failure to produce the documentation now seals the deal, the car was illegal in DC. Glad to see he is past it now.

    Re: Tolodo Pro wrap-up...

One thing I forgot to point out in Toledo.

Sunday was Howard's Birthday. On my first run I was lining up against Wynveen,  I yelled Happy Birthday to Howard, he couldn't hear me so he got up to come see what I said. He didn't start the shot clock due to this (whoops), after figuring out I was just saying Happy Birthday he went to a manual start.

He signaled Steve, who acknowledged, then went to turn to signal me, during this turn he dropped the timing button, which hit the ground and triggered the lights. I was laughing before realizing that the tree was on the way down, I didn't budge as I hadn't acknowledged I was ready. Steve on the other hand went with the lights, though I believe he redlit that run. I got a solo run, which I promptly hosed on the front straight of the course.

Big whoops on my part, no more messing with the started before a ProSolo run....

    Re: Tolodo Pro wrap-up...

Yeah, I redlit that run, but it didn't help that the tree came down about 1 sec after I nodded that I was ready, since I was expecting a few seconds for Howard to get your nod and then start the tree.  It was about the 2nd yellow before my brain finally said holly $%)(&^, the tree is already coming down! Sad

    Re: Tolodo Pro wrap-up...

Another great event! I had a blast all weekend, and you could not have asked for better weather. I think last year at the Toledo Pro it was about 10* hotter . . .

Thanks to the NWOR crew all the hard work! Kevin, sorry about problems with the EVO during the practice starts. I sure wanted to see that XP beast run . . .

Can someone answer a quick question - what sets your "qualifying position" for the Super Challenge? I would have thought it would be based off of your index times. . . ?

I'm pretty sure it's "gap" from the leader, or how much of a lead you had if you won your class

    Re: Tolodo Pro wrap-up...

Yep,  so the top qualifier is the class winner with the biggest gap to second place, so on down the list.  Once all the class winners are accounted for, they add in the people that finish closest to the class winner with that gap getting bigger until you get to the last qualifier, the driver that finished furthest from his class winner but was 32nd on the list.

FYI, the pictures that Phil and I took at the Toledo Pro are now posted at http://philandjen.smugmug.com

We posted all the pictures, with just a quick sort by class. So you get both the good and the bad pictures. Huh?

My apologies to F125 - we apparently both missed you guys all weekend. Embarrassed
