with my 99 impreza rs im currently in STS, but im going to be prepping the car next season for time attack which includes..

 -255 tires on a 18x9.5 rim

-6pt cage

-sparco evo seat (with side mounts)

-5pt harness

-fender flares

-carpet, sound detaining, rear seats, and trunk panels removed

-2 way coilovers w/front and rear camber plates

 

would this just put me in SM?

you will no doubt get an expert opinion - take mine with a grain of salt

16.1.A "...vehicles must be as originally delivered including...interior..."

So what alterations to the interior are explicitly permitted?

16.1.O permits you to strip radio/stereo

so to my surprise it appears that the rear seats, trunk panels, carpet, and sound deadening materials if altered would bump the car out of Street Mod...

Removing the carpet, trunk panels and sound deadening moves you to FP.  If you keep those items, you should be fine in SM.

I would suggest reading a rule book.
