Driving back from the Toledo Pro. Courtney let me sit in Rod's car and I passed some nasty ass gas in the seat.........

Oh yeah.....Happy 43rd birthday Rod McGeorge.....missed you in Toledo

Ok here's my summary......

Kart like courses with lots of 90 degree turns.  Operationally the event went perfectly.  Darrin's software was flawless.  Jr., I must admit does a great job announcing at the Pro's, which is why I was working the freakin course--(but I think I am funnier......maybe a tour is more my style.)

Hurley (TedEbare).....stick that crybaby Z06 stuff where the sun don't shine, as O'Maley took Braun, and Lord Helmet was stuck in the goo (they C0-drove the Leckey's car).  However Z06 favorable course.

I crushed Strelniecks on time, as I ran SM2 and he decided to turn tail and run into D stock.  Where he did win in his 135i.  He also stole Disimo'swater sprayer  which Hector and I were using, but couldn't use it because he swiped it.  Stickey fingers Strelniecks strikes again !

Hector choked in ASP, and was leading before Sunday's runs, but as he says "If iff's and but's were candy and nuts it would be christmas all year round".  Jr. took him by .177

Darrin lost to Dan Stone as the torque of the Solstice proved to be too much to overcome.  Vitamin J took AS over typhoid Mary Roberts (as Roberts sounded pretty sick and was busy infecting his fellow soloists when he zapped them with the scanner, on Saturday)

Andy Hollis, won his class and I heard he was not in the final round of the Super Challenge as we were leaving the site.  However I am sure we will all be reading about his exploits on the "offical web site" ad nasuem.

F125----not really sure what happened as they are all about at the height of my ankles, and I have no idea what any of them look without a karting suit on.

Prepareds and Mods are generally not big participants at a Pro, and they run on a index so lets just skip them.

BS-----the guy Trevor Hill I believe lost his DC appeal of the protest, but took a solid BS win with his A/C back in the car, as I believe he didn't provide the necessary paperwork.

I won SM2 over Courtney by a really slim margin like 19 thousandths or something like that.

ES.......I believe Robert "Bang the Hammer" Carpenter, nailed a win in ES.

Sam "Slippery Sam" Strano beat me in the Challenge as I red lit, and took FS for the weekend.

Jason Hoopenpooper took either 3rd or 4th---note I will edit this when figure it out.

Big thanks to Mr. Hupenbecker (sp ?)---for running to my truck and getting me some gas, as I didn't realize that he had a swollen ankle, and could barely even walk, much less run like he did.  Thanks !

I think ?  Hoops took SM in that crazy Evo.

 

PS----got a chance to practice Kung-Fu this weekend as my co-driver thinks it's really funny to take a running start, jump in the air, and land almost on top of my head.  Well this time I heard his loud ass feet running up behind me, and used my advanced reflexes so sidestep his flying jump, as he then fell on his face into concrete.  Luckily he is ok, as he is driving right now, while I am typing.

Funniest moment of the weekend.

Jr. and Courtney are paired up against eachother in the super challenge running Rod's Z06 (jr in asp and courtney in SM2) so they each have to run seperatly. Courtney run's first (and is pulling 1 second lights?).

When Jr. gets up to the line I see Courtney run up the other side of the timing trailer with his helmet on into the staging lights against Jr. and starts making car reving noises. which i think were louder than the Z06 as i could hear them all the way on the far end of the course.

oh. and the solstice needs about 100 more ft-lbs, a better clutch and better drivers :)

I had the lottery-esque privelage of paddocking next to Mr. Lehman and it was actually less exciting than I expected! 

All in all a great event.  Big thanks to some members of Team FS for some pointers before my final runs which was worth enough for me to finally pick up some time today and snag my first Pro trophy finish.

 I think I know who has video of the Junior/Courtney head-to-head pairing.  That would be a good addition to the video at the banquet in Topeka.

You forgot about the Friday welcome party food.

 They announced that food was there and then by the time I finished course walks the food was all gone.  They announced that more food was coming and after waiting around for 1/2 hour a guy showed up with one more pan of chicken.  So about 1/4 of the people hanging around the food at that time got some food and everybody else left because they started packing up all the food stuff.

And the deciding to run FJ at the start of 3rd heat instead of at the start of the day like they have been doing for the last 3+ years.  This meant that because BS was the last class of heat 2 they had nobody else to send us with because of the way the class numbers worked out for the grid guy so we went out there as a 2 pairs of cars so not much time for tire pressures between runs.  Then second drivers had to wait until after FJ finished running (with a co-driven kart)

However I will say that once second drivers in BS got to impound the results always seemed to get out to impound very quickly.

But overall still fun now if I could just work on that driving part....

I want to thank Ian Baker and Mike Snyder for cobbling my front hub together well enough to run it all weekend. You guys are the best, I promise I will keep you in beer all weekend in Finger Lakes (there was no drinking in Toledo).   If the 2 keeps breaking like this I will have a brand new suspension in no time!   Oh, yeah-thank you Carrie for kicking ass all weekend and winning the Ladies Challenge.  And Mike rolled all the way to the championship round in the SC.  What a weekend for the Snyders!

 Thanks also to Jason Huepenbecker for letting me stay at your parent's place. We got to tour the six car garage, full of old 57 Chevys and a gorgeous Vette.  His Mom cooked us up a little dinner both nights---Friday night it was unlimited steaks before we hit the pool.  Jason REALLY hit the pool.  His ankle was supersized (dude-you might want to get that X-rayed). 

The pad was nice, courses a bit tight but it was a fun weekend.

So it was my first time to a Pro as a competitor - and a big thank you to NWOR for hosting a well-run event!  This weekend was one that reminded me how wonderful the national solo community is, and it was great to see some old friends and make a few new ones.

More importantly - a HUGE thanks to ladies in L2 for making my first Pro experience a wonderfully memorable one!  While we probably won't attend another Pro/National Tour this season, I can't wait to become a L2 regular in the seasons to come!

Weekend was fun, and the car didn't break anything... I saw the BS cars getting back to the line quickly, but didn't know why, now I do (karts).  Somehow the left/right lines got REALLY uneven on Saturday afternoon runs during my run (2nd driver).  One side had like 6 cars, other side, one!  Really not sure what happened there...

We need to work on our concrete setup, that was really apparent after the last 2 weekends, I think we made some decent strides for Sunday's runs to at least be in the hunt... then the driver input failed.  =)

#1 highlight for the weekend was Geoff Chambers throwing down a perfect light in the bonus challenge on run two with a 2.6 second lead after run one!!!!!!!!!!  I heard that as we were driving out of the site...  Congrats on the Bonus Challenge win Geoff.  =)

Congrats to Tracy Ramsey on the Top Qualifier, couldn't happen to a nicer guy... and thanks for answering all of our DP questions!

Obviously, even more sucky driving on my part too.  Thanks again for the drive, Chris.  Sorry I didn't make a better showing in your car!  Yeesh!  Nothing to blame but my driving for being all alone at the back of the pack there.  ;)

I still had a great time up there, regardless of the results.  Was fun hanging out at Jason's folks' place as Jer pointed out.  Would like to thank Jason for engineering that deal for us. ;)

Great site too.  Event ran really smoothly. I would definitely like to go back there again.

Well, this was my 1st ProSolo and I had a blast and more importantly for once, I didn't come in DFL in my class.

I had absolutely NO experience in the R32 before Friday... PERIOD. Never even sat in it, let alone go driving agressively in one.  But oh well, I could've driven better with more seat time and also with my head not clearly up places it shouldn't have been on the left course.

I thoroughly enjoyed the format and got to meet more great people and get to see more of the people I've already met.  I love seeing the community spirit there when people's car's break ( the Johnsons ) and they are offered rides, and even people that didn't know someone ( one SCR local ) got a ride for Sunday when his STI decided it didn't want to go into gear anymore by a bumped BSP car running in SM.

I still kick myself for my .499 light on my best "run" of the day on Saturday and that might have helped me a bit. My biggest goal was accomplished by seeing just what a good car feels like in competition and that with a little more seat time in it I could improve and drive better and place better.

that R32's launch for the 1st couple times made me see stars and scare the __________ right out of me.

GREAT job to all those that were in the fight for those close finishes! Amazing competition, great concrete, and I think it ran smoothly, but I've not seen other Pros.. so what do I know?

See you all in Topeka since I think I'm done with the tours and Pros until then. My Slowbalt won't be doing a Pro and the other tours are too far.
