    Darkhelmet:

I almost spit my water out sitting in grid when I heard that...

Dave is always good for keeping us entertained while waiting for our turns.

No argument here. When Wynveen told me that Lehman was announcing in Atlanta (I think), I cringed! However, I must say that I was fairly impressed. He got all the times and penalties out and was still able to entertain us with his Lehmanisms.

I think Lehman is going to crack my top ten list. Wink

Heyward, I think we can add him to the Nationals announce list!

    Andy Hollis:

Quote of the day from Mr Lehman while announcing, just after entering the anounce vehicle and trying to remove his raingear with the assistance of someone else in the vehicle.

"My assistant has his hands in my lap and is working my zipper"

    Nice.

Especially since FJr was in impound with a remote announce PA speaker right there.

    TMI, David.

--Andy "banned from announcing for insulting T&S"

First:  I think Lehman has done a great job announcing and actually find myself being entertained which few others can do.  The list of really good announcers is pretty slim, and I think he's on it.

Second:  There is plenty of cursing, swearing and otherwise adults having fun behavior at these events.  If we're worried about scaring the kids, maybe the kids shouldn't be there.  And this has NOTHING to do with karts.  It has to do with the fact that I like to have fun.  We've had some great talent show acts axed because of "the children".  If you don't think your kids should hear anything "bad" (and I don't think that was), then it's the parent's job to insulate them from the debautchery... it's not my charge or the charge of 200+ others to babysit.

I'm not going to walk up and teach your kid every bad word there is.  It's not like anyone was on the mic doing George Carlin's (R.I.P) 7 dirty words routine....

Re: Peru Tour PAX/RTP Index Results

I really didn't remember that offhand comment over the mic, about the assistant with his hands -----helping me with my zipper----

Which he was doing, however it was the zipper to my WalMart rain jacket-----not my pants........

Andy Hollis........is that all you think of ?

(Actually------I laughed hysterically to myself in my hotel room as I read Andy quote of what I said)----didn't realize it was that funny at the time, but sure is funny in retrospect.)

PS----not so funny is getting off the phone with the wife, who had to take my son to the Dr. today with 104-------and then bring the mail into my office, and sign some checks, and then do another errand for me.  She is really pissed off at me.  However, when I get home I will make it up to her.  Had to promise her no crazy 18 day trips next year.  But I did remind her about Topeka this year----probably not a good move.  Also told her that I am sending her something.....probably also not good as the "something" was a postcard with a Indiana theme that I bought for $.50 in the hotel lobby.  Did tell her I picked up the family some gifts today after I made a couple of sales calls in South Bend today.  Is it my fault that the Hoosier factory is right outside South Bend.  Also picked up some contigency tires that Hector had won at the same time.

Did I mention that Jeff Speer at Hoosier is a great guy..

Anyway, those gifts I picked up were a bunch of HOOSIER t-shirts for my wife, daughter, and son.  Might be smart to wait a couple of days after I get home to give everyone their presents, as there might be a greater chance for of my wife trying to injure or kill me, if I give her the presents while she is still pissed at me.

She has a divorced friend, or rather best friend--(finance mgr BMW dealership.....that I got my M3 at, how's that for thanking me for leasing the car)-----well she says to my wife something like this "I can't believe David took this business/racing trip so long-----it's not right" or something like that.....says the divorced lady......who is obviously an expert at staying married

ps---sorry for the personal venting above, but it's good for me to get it off my chest

pss-gefilte.........Heyward asked me to announce at Nats----i said sure.  Hector wasn't too thrilled as it means we will be there another 2 days.  But I think he's going to stick it out with me, and help me drive back---------or rather let me use his mobile internet connected laptop, and read a newspaper etc-----while we split the driving like me 35%------him 65%.......because I get sleepy behind the wheel sometimes, and my night vison, and my vision in general sucks

I want to announce at National's.  Quite simply for the reason of hearing my own voice try to pronounce some of the names and give the play-by play.  Whomever is in charge of that area....PICK ME PICK ME!!!

I don't know what it was about Peru but I swear the first 5 or so AS drivers all had weird names I had trouble announcing, the rest of the field seemed to be alright, though I never could get Jim Z's name right in FS for the weekend, I still can't remember how to say it.

Re: Peru Tour PAX/RTP Index Results

By now Jim Z, I think you should realize how much trouble your last name is causing the announcers.

The considerate thing to do would be to legally change your name to something like "Adams", or "Brown".

Weren't you always sick of being the last one to raise their hand when the teacher was calling roll.

Why curse your children, granchildren, relatives and anyone else with a last name that starts with a "Z"

(although it could come in handy when the Seargeant calls out names from his platoon to take the hill in the distance------Charles, Davis, Smith, and Townes----you go over that hill, and take out the enemy machine gun nests.  "Z"----------you stay here and pay the guy when he brings our lunch, and make sure he leaves some extra duck sauce, last time he left extra hot mustard, and no duck sauce-----I hate that mustard.)

Not a problem, thanks to Zerhusen, Ziegler, and Zins, who were behind me.  I guess that explains why Zins became a proctologist......always behind.Stick out tongue

Lehman is some kind of name pronouncing savant. Even got my jumble of consonants nearly correct (Proksch).

Whenever teachers called on me it was:

    'Jason Pp... P...'

    'Here!'

(BTW long 'o', silent 'c', one syllable - but I accept anything that starts with a 'P' or even a 'B' for some reason)

The craziest thing is the year before I began autocross there was another guy in this region in my same class with only 1 letter difference (Jason Prokosch) - everyone must think I am the same person.

What is Jim Z's last name?

Can it Hammond! I had two odd ones in my heat. It was Lehmans wet dream.

Seamon and Wener. Try finding ways around those announcing them quickly!

It's going to be hard for Wener to catch Seamon, as Seamon looks like he's really sticking on this run.

Wener might just have to put on new rubber if he wants to catch Seamon.
