Nice thing about old Gino, he don't hit every other car on the track like somebody we all know....JM

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

The funny thing about this year was that the amount of car damage was down by over 500%. There was only only 1 unfortunate incident, instead of last years 4 or 5. Did I mention that last years 4 or 5 incidents were all caused by the same person?

Hummmm....why do you think the number of incidents were down?  Could it be that a certin white camaro was not here and didn't have the chance to hit every car in the group? Who knows?

Didn't mean to spoil all the gooey feelings on this thread guys, just stating facts.....Big Smile

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

Back in CT, the Sprints were great, first time back there in many years, and not having to tow a car out there was tops!  Thanks to the Geigers and Steve C for putting this all together.

Found out a lot about how the cars will run in '09, and pretty happy about being 'first Honda'.  Too bad the race was shortened, the SM cars definitely got into our race, but they were racing too.  Do ya think they could have started further back on the split start given a 4 mile track?  Embarrassed  Let's hope the PTB look at this for next year.

The VW was an interesting car I had not seen before, don't know why he faded when they threw the green, ran pretty good in Qualifying, thanks for the draft!  Spoke to Richard Clarke before the race, if I had known he was gonna banzai this deal, would have asked that he hold up Gino a little more, got close anyway.   But without the drama, it was 3's all the way.  Wonder what the AS Corolla would do?  Rollseyes

Sorry to see JS and Schader wreck a couple of really nice cars, glad eveyone is OK.  Heard it started in the kink, a looong wreck given where they stopped.  Back to real life for a week or so, thanks to everybody for a great weekend,  Party!!!

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

Larry, it was nice to see you at the sprints this year! Glad you made the trip to run with us.

Ross, ya know, I have never, ever, said anything about you or your driving. But, I have seen first hand the carnage that follows you on the race track. Now RP says you have gotten better, and I hope thats true, for your sake, and for everyone that races with you. I'm sure you have some issues with Gino, and thats cool. Hell, I sometimes wanna wring his neck. But, I can vouch for him and his driving. Maybe the old saying about folks and thier glass houses would be best observed here? .....JM

I don't want to wring anybodys neck, never have, because a grown man isn't overcome by his hotheaded emotions and then lashes out physically on someone else.  Right?

If you were the owner of THAT particular glass house, you really shouldn't be throwing stones about someones on track incidents every time you get a chance, especially when it sounds like you have your own issues, on and off the track.

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

Ross, I think the point is, perhaps you should look at what it is that gets all these folks worked up? Maybe Gino was only acting out what everyone else felt? I wasn't there, so I don't know, but like I said, let it go........JM

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

This is getting out of control.

Everybody needs to just move on and keep this site for postings related to racing and other things about racing, and not about each other's personal feelings.

Believe it or not, my issues with Ross were long forgotten upon leaving the track that day. And I have no idea where he gets the info or impression that I've been continuing to discuss him. I will admit, that I may have confirmed to people that "yes" I have been a victim of Ross's driving skills in the past. That's all.

And FYI, I did in a private message to you Ross apologize for my actions at the track, and also was very willing to forgive and forget. He seems to be forgetting to tell everyone that part.

All I asked is that I would like to hear from others that he had truly changed. Not for me but for the saftey of himself and others. In my opinion (which I'm intitled too.) he had not changed, in fact after the sprints last year, I saw the carnage and it had only it's seemed to have gotten worse.

I want to go on the record by saying, I apologize for my past opinions and comments. But I ask you to remember the difference between the old "sticks and stones" , and a 2500lb car traveling at a high rate of speed. People can get really hurt or die by someone elses reckless driving, and "sticks and stones".....you know the rest.

RP told me you changed, but sorry to say, it's clear by your postings both public and private, that you have not changed at all. At all!

In fact, this seems to have consumed your life. Let it go and move on, I have.

Please take my word, you will never hear or see another comment from me about you Ross. I've wasted enough time already. Time I can't get back.

Take my advise, don't waste anymore of your own time on this and just concern yourself on your family, friends, racing, winning, having fun and being safe. Things that are really important in life.

    Sincerely,

    Gino

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

    JMac -

Buddy, I have BEEN ready to let it go since it happened FOUR years ago when I was racing C!  "Punchy" keeps bringing it up every chance he gets!  When he takes my name and the color of my car out of his mouth I'll go back to never reading this garbage! Yes  Who needs to let it go?

    Cya at the track?

    Ross

    Caught in a lie

Hell Yeah it's out of control.  And I've been hearing about it for years.  Here's a copy of your post dated 5-31-08, but you claim to have stopped trash talking me constantly to everyone who will listen:

I don't think anybody in SSC is going to miss Ross either, and for that matter neither will my car!

I say that out of personal experience.

And no you never apologized for your actions, so neither did I.  I'll make you a deal, you make good on your promise to move on and not mention me at least in a public forum again and I'll make sure you don't feel any motivation to.

    Deal?

The Group 3 race had a few exciting moments for me, either my battle with Richard Clark or the swarm of killer Spec Miata's that I could'nt seem to get away from.

    Hey Gino -

Did your "battle" with Richard require boxing gloves and a mouthpiece in the pits or were you able to keep the fight on the track this time???  Stick out tongue  Just wondering....  Big Smile

    Hey Ross,

I have no dog in this hunt, but after reading this thread, it seems to me that Gino never mentioned you at all, and you just looked to start a bunch of crap by posting the above comment...

    Did I miss something??

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

Yeah, Jason, apparently you missed the post just above yours where Gino is once again flaming me (5-30-08, even though he lies in his post just above that and says "Believe it or not, my issues with Ross were long forgotten upon leaving the track that day. And I have no idea where he gets the info or impression that I've been continuing to discuss him.)

... and every other either lying or misleading post the guy has ever written about me over the past THREE years.  Just like at Road America that day, I didn't start this fight, I ended it.  It's over, I'm glad both sides of the coin are visible now, and I'm not responding to anything further on this one.  Maybe next time someone decides to blatantly exaggerate, lie, misplace their blame on me or spread BS about me on a public forum I'll pop back up again.  I'm sure you're looking forward to it.

Re: JUNE SPRINTS , HOW ARE THEY GOING?

    Gino & Ross,

May I suggest something that might take some of the invective out of our forums?  Why don't you two each just send me a private message with all the anger you have contained within the message.  Say anything you want, any way you want.  Then consider the issue dead, forever, O.K?

I'll act as a heat sink, so to speak, and I won't tell either of you what was said so you won't be making each other more angry with what is said, but you will each get to vent your anger and then have a chance to forget it.

Remember, I won't pass it on to anyone or ever tell what you said.  I trust that any monitor will honor that promise, too, won't you, monitors?

Free venting, right here, no cost, no penalty--go for it!Yes

And, if you are mad at me---ah----umm---yeah, go ahead, blast away.Indifferent
