    Wolf Ridge Hillclimb, June 7/8

Not that you really need an excuse for spending a weekend up in the Blueridge, but if you do, here it is. Come on up. http://www.scenicwolfresort.com/  There really is nothing quite like a flat out run up a mountain road on cold slicks. Here's a onboard video from my run last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aJJoUMSQhw

I'm sure there is a need for corner marshals, if your not driving. The contact info is here: http://ccrscca.proboards51.com/index.cgi?board=solo2&action=display&thread=2226

Re: Wolf Ridge Hillclimb, June 7/8

Well the Wolf Ridge Hillclimb turned out to be a great event with 50 entries and cool mountain breezes, making conditions ideal for new class records and fast times. I was lucky enough to finally get a overall King of the Hill win after doing this for 12 years. George Bowland had decided to go north and run a Pennsylvania hill, and the third and fourth place drivers from last year had not returned. Ted Theodore had the fearsome winged Bandit there but he had not run the hill before and was just getting use to the power and aero of that car. Other drivers in competative cars also had not driven there before and it is a serious mountain that takes a while to learn and be comfortable with. Although I had a 4 second lead on Saturday, I still had to push on Sunday as I knew there were a couple of drivers who would be breathing down my neck. I did keep about a second lead Sunday but everyone got faster and Ted was right there in second place at the end. Steve Rankins in that awesome Cannonball One Lap winning Subaru was right there in third. I always tell folks that the only reason a formula car wins is simply physics, but then Steve and that Subaru makes me wonder. Anyway a great event with good times and good friends. Thanks to all the folks from CCR SCCA, Highlands Sports Car Club, and the corner marshals that make these events possible.
