Didn't it become legal in a recent fastrack?  Or was it just up for member comment?

Re: FS: CSP MIATA - 1993 LIMITED EDITION - LOTS OF R&D IN THIS CAR

I don't know, I don't follow it as close as some.  I don't compete nationally, and those I compete against locally don't complain, because the reason I win has nothing to do with the fact the car has an aluminum radiator, that would be silly, we all know that its my mohawk where I gain the real HP!!! It acts as a ruder!

The car has an aluminum radiator because it has spent time with Chin Motorsports running track days at Sebring and Homestead.  It is a multipurpose car, not just Autocross.

To compete nationally one would just need to loose the roll bar, loose the trailer hitch, add 1.8 ltr motor, and finally add a gargantuan lexan spoiler ;p

It would need a lot more than that, but still looks like a nice car.  Good luck with the sale.

Re: FS: CSP MIATA - 1993 LIMITED EDITION - LOTS OF R&D IN THIS CAR

Yeah I'm well aware of that I was just being a wise ass. ;P But the suspension set up... nothing needs to done.

A purely "Nationally Competitive" Solo car does not fit what I use the car for, I run some high speed events that require roll bars.

The radiator is the only thing that would not be class legal for CSP and that was for track days for added protection.

As far as the car... its an awesome car and is wicked fun!  I will miss it dearly. It has been very good to me.  I have also been told by some "Miataphiles" that it is one of the strongest 1.6 ltrs they have driven.

to see how the car compares to others in the area, WWW.GULFCOASTAUTOCROSSERS.COM, I have some folks in the area who run the tour see how I fair against them, car number 12, look at RAW TIMES.

I will be at the PCA event in Miami tomorrow and can always be found at Gulfcoast Autocrossers Events.

    PICS ARE UP!

I also need to make some changes

1- -Springs are Hyperco springs not Drop zone, sorry, I ate paint chips as a kid

2- -My girlfriend (co-driver) and I had a ton of fun this past weekend at the PCA event in Miami and the 15 inch V-710's, well they worked hard, so the tread is a weee bit lower, see pics.

I'm new to autocross, but very interested in your car. What would I need to do to it to make it legal for local and national autocross events? Please explain in laymen terms. I don't know that much about cars.

Re: FS: CSP MIATA - 1993 LIMITED EDITION - LOTS OF R&D IN THIS CAR

The only thing you would need to do to make the car legal is replace the radiator with an OEM (stock replacement) radiator.  But realistically, the only time you are going to run into problems is if at an event someone complains about it. So, if your not winning no one will complain, you get away with it... if you start winning, people *might* complain.  I run at three local clubs and no one complains, basically because we all agree the radiator doesn't play a role in how I finish for the event.  Is it a weight saving part swap?  It is aluminum but it is also almost twice as large as a stock radiator, so does it balance out???  I don't know, i've never weight compared the two.I may be starting a thread I don't care to get into. I'm no mechanic nor an scca guru, I may not be the best person to ask, there are far more qualified people out there to discuss this topic.

But none the less if you want to be technically legal, swapping out the radiator is a simple and inexpensive swap and the only thing on this car not SP legal.  Miata parts, new and used, are plentiful and inexpensive.

I'm very interested in the Miata...if still avail. I didn't see any mention of a Diff ? Specs all look good to me, can you tell me about the history of the? How long have you had it? Accidents, etc...i know its really not autox related, but curious...I assume its still registered/titled and clean?

I'm up in PA, but wouldn't mind a flight down and a top down drive back up the coast....Been autoxing for about 10 yrs, always stock class, presently DS BMW 330i, but have really wanted to play in a SP class for several years, alway like the Miata's....and am ready to dump the BMW and change up my outlook.
