I'm flying into LAX and driving to Irvine in June, and I think I want to make the drive a little more fun, does anyone have recommendations on what to rent from who there? Right now I'm looking at a Corvette from Hertz, but I'm not sure they're going to let me return it in Irvine...

I don't know about Hertz, but I rent from Avis quite a bit and they have Vettes and 350Z's.   If you are renting from Hertz why not see if you can pick up a GT350H Mustang?!?

Any convertible should be fun, especially with the perpetual nice weather that SoCal is blessed to have.

A couple years ago, my wife and I rented an Eclipse Spyder in San Francisco and drove down the PCH to Los Angeles.  Awesome scenic drive. 

 I wouldn't recommend floggin an unfamilier car on an unfamilier stretch of road though, especially the PCH with nice sheer dropoffs into the ocean.

X2, on the vette or the GT350H if your going to go go all out don't rent a gay 350Z,me I would get the GT350.I found out the other day there is one up in Redding,CA about 30mins. from me,I thought about going up there and renting it just to drive it for the weekend.

Actually, Hertz doesn't have GT350s -- they have GTs and GTHs, and I couldn't find anything but automatics.

I'm not sure what a GTH is, but they had the GT350H (H is for Hertz) when I was looking.

Through our corporate discount I ended up renting a Corvette, for 2 days it was only $20 more than the Mazda 6! BUT, then my trip got cancelled, due to budget cuts. :(

LOL, The only way I would drive a 350Z is if it had the STS twin rear mounted turbo's like one of the guys I autox with that car is fast and it sounds good to.
