Who has them? In what 15" sizes? (I've been hoping to see the 225/45R15 size become available.) Prices?

Is there any known comparison between them and the 195/50R15 Bridgestone RE-01's?

I'm looking at buying four to be used primarily on the local level, in the SCCA-Detroit Region's TSM class (Street Tire-Street Modified) on what is essentially an STS Neon with about 15 more horsepower and about 100 lbs. less weight. Thanks.

the 195s have been out for a while, and early reports suggested graining and accelerated wear could occur - opinions varied

the 205s just came out

I 'm hoping Andy Hollis may share some comparative data between the two tires you mention (albeit not those exact sizes)

the 225/45 is allegedly a July item...

205/50-15 is about a half inch wider than a 195/50-15, and a 225 might be a good bit wider, but won't be available until late July according to Toyo.

Will the 205 Toyo with it's soft sidewall work as well on a 7" wheel? Are there any 15x7.5" wheels worth using?

I know nothing about how they act but my 205s will be going on 15x7.5 Rota slipstreams...

 The sidewall isn't super soft, it is the whole carcus. 

 I have mine on 15x7.5 rota slipstreams, but they look fine on 15x7 wheels as well.

Other than that, I would buy some and save some money.  Everybody knows that if you buy hoosier wets, you'll never be at an event where it rains.

This is absolutely true. I did personal research on the subject; worked like voodoo magic! Good insurance if you hate racing in the wet.

 The event immediately after I sold mine was the first rain event I had run in 2 years!!!

Hi I was thinking about replacing my worn front T1-R tyre with an R1-R. Does anyone know how they cope with daily driving in rain n stuff?

the R1Rs are a lot stickier than the T1Rs...might not be a good idea to mix 'em.

no personal experience, but people seem to agree that the R1Rs work pretty well in the rain.

OK then but I'm not sure what to replace the left front tyre with. Alot of tyre makers seem to not make their best tyres in sizes below 17 or 16" anymore :( I think I need a tyre that grips like the T1-R but has a stiffer sidewall if such a tyre exists.

 Here is a picture where you can see how the tyre has rolled over onto that shoulder and worn it down from all the clockwise trackday laps.

why not another T1R?

in the future, you might consider rotating the tires to even out the wear, so you don't end up having to replace one tire.
