    Re: solo event #3

For all who preregistered for todays event your registration will be moved to the July 13th event. If that date will not work for you send an email to me at bschnard@yahoo.com with the event you want to move to. Unfortunately with porta pottys traveling across the course and with cones falling over on there own we felt like we would not be able to maintain a safe course. And the winds were supposed to get even stronger this afternoon. I wonder how those guys on the motorcycles are going to make out that were going in to the big track as we were leaving. We will reschedule the Test & Tune that was to be in August as a points event. I sure hope monther nature is nice to us the rest of the year or we might end up running in November.

Thanks for your patience and if you find out which one of the Subaru guys ordered this weather tell them to tone it down just a bit. A little wet isn't too bad but wet, cold and wind is just too much. My suspicions are that it was that Arshad guy but don't tell him I said it was him.

The MCRA (Motorcycle guys) were going to look again at 10am and cancel if the winds didn't let up.

I had trouble keeping the trailer in 2 lanes on I-44 while only going about 50mph forward.  I don't know the cross wind speed...:)

As I was leaving, I saw Mark Hill pulling in.  I feel sorry for him to have the event canceled after driving from KC.

I feel sorry for anyone who drove in from other areas and can only give my apologies  to them. As you and I discussed though we just could not maintain a safe course in those conditions. Probably the worst part for Mark will be the infernal headwind headed back west. It sucked my gas mileage down 2 MPG below normal towing MPG with just my drive to O'Fallon, MO.

To many subarus and one Eclipse GSX. Stick out tongue I am so disappointed. Today was one of my best shots at beating Dave Ledford. My car has no problem with rain. I understand about the conditions though. It was pretty gross.

Just think if you had been in the one that blew over. Although sliding across the lot in one would have been a bit unsettling to say the least.

We were about 20min away when we got word it was a no go.  The drive up was interesting--we're not used to a bit of opposite lock to keep the car headed in the correct direction in a perfectly straight line.  Phil saw a bird trying to fly across the street before we left but it was losing so much ground it landed and tried to walk across the street instead.Huh?

I got there about 7:00 and should have known better.  The wind and rain were going full blast since I left Jefferson City at 4:30 - the weather was the same all the way home.  Next weekend is Ozark, MO to get some practice before the Bash!!!

What would you class a porta-potty as?

    Re: solo event #3

Sounds like a good decision. Windy or wet we can deal with, but when the wind is moving the portapotties and and cones and probably the timing lights it can get unsafe and no fun for anyone working.

We canceled our scout trip for the weekend too. The part of the upper Meramec that we were going to float was too high and we decided not to change it to a backpacking trip because of the forecast.

Just to defend myself, I would like to point out that I was praying for rain and not for hurricane type winds.

    Re: solo event #3

I think Arshad was on treaded tires, and doubt he realized I was on treadless racing tires.  I managed to get across the bridge and through the headwind and south on 55 I continued white knuckling at 60 MPH with the car shooting sideways with every puddle and lane stripe that a tire encountered.  Here comes Arshad in the next lane to the left, hauling along with a big smile, narrowly avoiding an accident waiting to happen.

Who makes good autocross rain tires and autocross studded snow tires?  These two items have become required equipment for this region.
