Perhaps for those of us that might be slightly interested, could you explain why you are selling after only using for under 3 hours?

Re: FS: Complete ChaseCam PDR100 setup

    A few reasons actually.

    • I've had it for over a year and used it just that little bit.  It's been sitting on my desk since last September.
    • I've decided to simplify my racing setup and, while it is pretty cool to review the video long after the fact, the video system definitely comes second to data acquisition when it comes to things I feel I need to spend time fiddling with at the track.
    • Add to that the fact that I fried a motor last year because I was playing with video settings in grid and forgot to turn on my accusump.  That I remembered to start the video but forgot something that keeps my car alive pretty much sealed its fate.

    Thanks for the response!

Good to know that your reason to sell was not due to dissatifaction with the PDR100.

Roughly what length of video can you record on the 4 GB card before it fills up?

Re: FS: Complete ChaseCam PDR100 setup

I believe (not absolutely positive but this rings a bell) that Chasecam forums said 2.5 hours on a 4 gig card.   This is the same setup I have (except I have the remote button)

Re: FS: Complete ChaseCam PDR100 setup

"Normal" resolution video is conservatively 30 minutes per gig.  If you dial it up, the highest setting uses roughly 15 minutes per gig.

Note for those that do not like to fiddle in grid with video (some thought it made me faster to stay distracted). :)..  the new PDR feature has been released where the unit will auto record based on GForce motion. So you do not have to touch it at all. You can wire the PDR to the car power, it will automatically boot up when you start the car, then automatically record video when the car moves (and stop recording some set time after you stop the car), and shut down gracefully when you turn off the car. And if you want, you can enable our new "Recycle Recording" mode to automatically overwrite the oldest files or use our "Loop Mode" to create a continuous video file.

WOW!!!  I need to pay more attention to Randy's site.  Those are some really convenient features Randy.  Nice work.

Does this one for sale do this?

     Also, any mounts included?

Re: FS: Complete ChaseCam PDR100 setup

Since it has a g-force module, all it needs is the latest version of the software.

If it doesn't already have the latest version loaded, all you'd have to do is download the latest version of the software, load it onto your compact flash card, and boot it up.

All the PDR's are field upgradeable.

Re: FS: Complete ChaseCam PDR100 setup

I'm not sure if it has the firmware to do that or not, but as Robert says, it's ridiculously easy to upgrade.

No mounts included.  I used an IO-Port camcorder mount (way overkill for the bulletcam) that I want to hang onto.
