PDX Event Cancelled for May 7 Due to Lightning

Gateway Raceway has cancelled tonight's St. Louis Region SCCA's  PDX Event due to possible thunderstorms and lightning conditions.  It is not safe for volunteers, entrants and guests to be outside with the radar showing such a strong possibility of lightening.

Gateway in partnership with St. Louis Region SCCA has agreed to reschedule this event.  All entrants that have paid entries to this event will be given free entry to the rescheduled date.

All entrants will be emailed with the date and it will be posted on this forum and the website once known www.stlpdx.com

Re: PDX Event Cancelled for May 7 Due to Lightening

What type of lightening was done to the track? Is there work being performed on the grandstands and there will be bolts permanently left loose so there is a threat of the stands falling on the track? Did they skim off the top layer of surface and are afraid that the whole thing is going to float away in the prevailing winds?

I love you too Jan :-)

But I have new Hoosier wets to scrub in! Oh, wait, I'm not even in town. Nevermind.

Can't see needlessly exposing the workers to those types of conditions. There will be another day.
