    Re: Regional Trophies

A few years ago, WDCR gave out plaques for every event...I won one for 2nd place and they stored it and gave it to me at the next event I attended, a year later. I have to say I think they have a much better idea with the stickers!

San Francisco Region gives plaques for the summer championship season as well as the winter slush season.  The number of trophies is based on the average number of competitors in the class, and is roughly the same number that would be given at a national event. Championship season plaques have a large photo of the car on them, slush season plaques are smaller with just the name and class.  First place for the summer championship season can pay for a jacket with the region logo, their name, and "Champion" embroidered on it (in years when the region is feeling rich, it pays for the jackets).

For individual events, the winner gets a checkered flag sticker with the region logo on it mailed with their results.   Perfect for sticking to your car, helmet, roll bar, refrigerator.

I kind of like the idea of stickers too, people could put them on magnets and use them on the car, or use them like you stated.  I think having the finishing position would be nice though.

We have separate awards for year-end, in the past we have done helmet bags, coolers, polo shirts, chairs, etc.

At the end of the year, class champions get a hat and a decal for their car.  Top 10 PAX get a nice personalized trophy with a model of their car (or the closest approximation they could find).

I like these ideas. The trophy wall in my garage doesn't mean much to my girlfriend, but having something to show off on the car at events would be kinda fun. We could encourage the old timers to buy a bigger car within their class every time they get too many magnets or stickers to fit on their current ride. =]
