    Too much Rust or Rubber?

    Hey guys,

What is your best guess?  Either using new full tread tires was the problem or my skills are a bit rusty.  Haven't raced in a lot of years, my times were pretty consistent.  Stories and silly comments are welcome.

My result Sunday was terribly disappointing, the car is not for sale yet.  Another car same make/model with beat me by two seconds, his spring/shock/swaybar set up is similar.

    Go Fast!!!

Perhaps a bit of both! But, when I had a very similar situation couple of years ago, I was about 2 sec behind the car owner at the beginning. And I was not able to claim it on the bad rubber and I don't think that you should either. So, in short just give it a few more events and see how things are falling in!

Swap cars and find out.  :)  Seriously.

    It was RUST!!!

One of my old race buddies critiqued my first run this weekend.  The nicest thing he said about my driving was that it was slower than dog poo/I looked like and old lady out for a Sunday drive!!  "You have to push it, as long as the front end stays in front you will get to the end faster!  Win or spin - get more aggressive!"

The course was second gear all the way...unless you do something spectacular.  I got so far out of shape twice I had to shift down to get moving again.  That run was a full second faster.  I took the other option on a slalom that I saw a fast guy drive and dropped a second.

Learning to drive again is a ball.  Everybody at the race has no idea what kind of run I will pull out next.  It surprises me most of all!  This is so much fun, I am glad to be back with the tribe.

Greg, it was great a great time there this weekend even if it was soaking wet!!  I thought you drove well, just need to knock a bit more rust off.  You're really coming around fast and you should be dropping the times again in no time.

P.S. Glad you were able to come out with us later Sunday night too.  I had fun!  David, Julie and I along with a few others have made that our Divisional thing-we-do with going out for ice cream!

Hope to see you in KC some more and don't forget about the KC National Tour too!
