    Honda Fit - what class?

What class would the Honda Fit be in?

    Thanks...

Re: Honda Fit - what class?

Would this still be true with basic mods such as intake, coilovers, cat-back exhaust, etc?

With those mods, you're now in STS. Any other 'basic mods' you want to tell us about?

Re: Honda Fit - what class?

hehe... good.  I figured it was STS.

Now if I understand correctly... if I change the front brakes (oversized) that would put me in yet a different class too?  Seems odd to me that major suspension work doesn't, but brakes would Confused

It's called rules.  Each class has a set of rules applied to it, whether some make sense or not is up to debate.  Most people choose one of two options: 1) build your car how you want and run in whatever class it puts you in and go have fun, or 2) build your car to the extent of a particular class you want to compete in and go have fun.  Either way it's a blast, you just have to choose which path makes the most sense for you personally. Wink

    Yeah, and here they are...

Good idea to familiarize yourself with this book first.  If there's something you don't understand, by all means ask away.

Re: Honda Fit - what class?

Anyone think a Fit would have a chance in hell in HS? Just thinking of getting one to play with.  :)

Also, I assume the paddle shifting automatic would not be a good idea compared to the standard transmission, right?

My Scion XA isn't holding me back in (local) STS

it's more the driver is holding the car back...

Re: Honda Fit - what class?

I've got a fit sport w/manual. Just picked up an extra set of wheels. My hoosier 205's from my type-r should fit fine so I'm considering it. Handling is great, low weight, why let low hp and torque ruin my day....

Re: Honda Fit - what class?

Yea... one of the guys on our forum is doing well with a Fit.  From his post....

I would like to say that this 2008 Honda Fit has taken first place at the Cincinnati SCCA. With a total of 13 turns again. Here are the times given. These are only best times to cut back on typing time. This may also be viewed on youtube.com. Sorry for the bad mouth at the end, the excitement got to me. It's under Quick Fit.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhSihMP6cPc

Re: Honda Fit - what class?

What brake changes constitute  a class change out of STS?   Can I change the rotors (keeping the size) but change the caliper to a 4 piston instead of the stock 1 piston?

Why would a Honda Fit (or any modern HS car) need better brakes?Confused
