    15x6 SSR rims

I currently have two sets of 99 Miata OEM rims for my C-Stock Miata, one for daily driving and the other for autox days.

Been thinking about selling one set and picking up a set of 15x6 SSR rims for my race tires.

The reduction in unsprung weight would be nice...

Other than money, any drawbacks to the SSRs?

Another set of rims I should consider?

The Volk TE37s are nice light and strong rims as well. You might want to check with Darrin Disimo...he might have a set of those for sale in that size. I believe they are around the 7-8lb range. Try ddisimo at mail dot com.

No real disadvantage (to the SSR) that I know of other than the fact that the oem lug nuts dig into the rim a bit.

    Mine have been great.

Wow, the Volk TE37 is quite a bit more money.  Weight seems to be about the same.

The SSR Type C's bend pretty easily. Likely not an issue for dedicated autox duty, but I wouldn't use them for track days or street use.  I have 2 bent rims from an off course excursion at Buttonwillow. Sad

    That's good advice...

I was planning to use them for autox use only.

Volk's don't come in a 15X6 (at least I've never been able to find them)  I run the 15X6 SSR's for my Honda and they came off a Miata.  They are right about the lug nuts digging in to the rim.  But for our cars with low HP, the unsprung weight of the 8.6lbs wheel help some.  Be ready to relearn how to brakes though.  I am interested in picking up another set as well.  You will like them...for sure.

They do. I've seen a handful of TE-37s around.

I wish I could get some in that size for my car.  No 5X100 or offset of 50 available.Sad

I have looked for Volks in a 15x6.  SHow me a link to some for sale.  Or that they even made them.  I can't find them.

    Re: 15x6 SSR rims

They were definitely made.  Mike Wooton had CE28s on his CS Miata (see attachment).  Ken Motonishi had TE37s on his CS Miata.

www.RandDMotorsports.com offered both for sale in January 2005.
I have an email with a price quote that they sent me.

I had 15x6 te37's on my old MR2. Bought them from Paul Brown ("Leaving the line" in SportsCar)
