Whiplash_Motorsports:Now that wasnt so hard, was it.... :) (From the March Fastrack) Remove the word “single” from 14.12.3 in class STX. Note: this will allow any forced-induction configuration
seriously. way past due, but a very welcome... clarification. *runs*

Since I just put a 135i on order I will be interested in the outcome here, IMO and FWIW, I think AS would be the best spot for the 135i. The eLSD "tuning/setup" "is specific to this car. Also, max torque is available as early as 1400 rpm, and has an M-Sports suspension.
- Guess we will have to see what actually happens on a course.........

Per scca.com, the May Fastrack is being released today (4/22). We should definitely know soon enough.

We had one with a known national level driver on course this past weekend. A little birdie said it was DS so it could be classed properly. After driving it, he thinks it's going to be a DS also ran. He was completely unhappy with it.

I assume this was Steve Snow. Did he have race rubber on the car? Was it raining? Thanks Rob. Disappointing news for me to say the least.

conekiller2:135 in d stock doubtfull. 128i in d stock should be able to get it done being that hp levels are similar to 330zhp but the car is 2-300 lbs lighter. 135 should be classed in b stock if it stands a chance not a. Also think the 128 would be one hell of a stx car with a limited slip, suspension, and a few power upgrades.
A little birdie told me that the 128 and 135 will be living together in D Stock. Makes sense to me if the desire is to try to speed up D Stock. I imagine if the 135 starts running BS times it will get moved there under the 12 month rule.
If the 135 is like other BMWs it comes from the factory with a completely neutered alignment, meaning lots of rear toe and camber and minimum front camber with miserable shocks. With some tweaking I'm sure it will improve. It should be better in every way than a 330i ZHP and the ZHP can compete with the Type R on many surfaces.

Personally, that wouldn't make sense to me as the 335i has already been classed in FS. Why put a lighter car with the same engine in a slower class? If the 135i gets classed in DS then the 335i should be moved there with it.

Yep, it was Steve. He had Hoosiers on the car and as far as I could tell, also tweaked the camber. It started spitting on fourth runs but the ground never got wet. He was running one or two cars behind me so I didn't get a chance to watch his runs.

Stock shocks?? Bar? We need to get this guy to post!
Shocks and bar transform the 330 from completely worthless to very competitive. I could see driving a stock 330 and thinking it's not going to cut it. I think the 135 would completely dominate DS. And the bummer with that is that you take a class that had five different cars in the trophies at Nats, all of which can be had for around $20k, and you stick a $35k overdog in there, and what do you get? A dead class.

Wow. Very interesting.
I know it's heavy and has an open diff, but 300hp/300lb-ft in DS?
I thought I had a lotta grunt with 225 lb-ft.

My thoughts exactly Bryan. If anything they should have classed the 135i in FS and moved the 335i down to DS along with the new 128i.

Well I won't say there goes the class but it sure is not going to make many people happy. I know I am not thrilled with that call but I guess that is the nature of stock class. Bryan, atleast we have more tire, and 400 lbs or so less weight, plus better suspension.

More tire? 135 has 18x7.5 and 18x8.5 doesn't it?

If they are like the 3 series they won't be able to fit much more than a 245 in the rear which will seriously hamper a car with that much power and basically an open diff. Though I could be wrong.
