Gas prices are getting up there, and if we are going to travel that far and stay at a hotel we'd rather travel to a Tour or Pro.  Not to mention it helps keep the home life happy not going to as many events.

They are going to need some practice on slaloms too, so I think they will toss a couple in, I hope...

Nice to have a "Street Tire" class huh?  The 30 mpg car is too expensive to drive 100 miles haha...   I understand, but it's sad you won't be coming down to Chicago at all.   Worry not, we still come up by you guys...we are used to you not coming down to our territory

Re: May 4th WAI Event at Miller Park?

This argument has nothing to do with the type of tires we use.  We drive a 18 year old modified car that is stiffly sprung, no different than Street Prepared (a class that isn't streetable BTW).

It's not that we don't like the CHI events because we do, it's just that it's more driving that we would like to do for a one day event.  If there was a weekend with two events at Rte. 66 we would have considered it, the only weekend that happens is up against the KC Tour.

We are also trying to not be burnt out at the end of the year, the last couple of years once Nationals is done I didn't even want to think about racing anymore.  Not to mention, I'm never home with the family on the weekends.

So hopefully the reduced schedule will help the home life, which really is more important that racing, and I won't dread looking at the car.

I'm only autocrossing two weekends per month.  Call it project cut-back or project get married, whatever you want to call it.  I will be there next weekend though.

Re: May 4th WAI Event at Miller Park?

Now all I have to do is put the new bushings in, change the oil pan gasket, put in a new clutch, remount all control arms, get proper springs, put shocks and springs back on after I get new ball joints, wheel bearings and tie rod ends installed, put on the rear sway bar, install header, put on strut tower bars, take all a/c componenets off, install steel braided brake lines, bleed whole system, get tires mounted on new rims, get an alignment and corner balance,.....

One week to go.  I will try to get to the tristate and wai events next weekend.  I have my alignment scheduled for Thursday and my front and rear adjustable controls arms are scheduled for delivery on Wed. Indifferent  Right now the engine is sitting on the garage floor and my trailing arms, front hub assemblys and other controls arms are at work so I can finish pressing out old parts and pressing in new.  Hopefully monday will bring another update.

I also found that one of my front shocks was bent Crying  I paid to have one come two day air to get here Wed.

I plan to get as far as I can with what comes in the mail tomorrow.  My front upper control arms are scheduled for delivery tomorrow.  I can get the trailing arms installed, brake lines to the rear, header bolted up and radiator back in.  Still have to make an intake for the car.  Work is really getting in the way.  Stick out tongue

I plan to get as far as I can finish with what comes in the mail tomorrow.  My front upper control arms are scheduled for delivery tomorrow.  I can get the trailing arms installed, brake lines to the rear, header bolted up and radiator back in.  Still have to make an intake for the car.  Work is really getting in the way.

Problem with bushing kit.  I don't have the baggie that has my rear control arm bushings.  Jason Frank has a baggie that he is giving me tomorrow so I can wrap this up for my alignment.

Re: May 4th WAI Event at Miller Park?

Game over for me.  Worked last night from 400pm to 130am and was installing the rear shock passenger side and heard a hissing.  Fluid coming out on top.  I am going to try and take up Ryan on his offer for Saturday and sleep all day Sunday.  Too many late nights to not get some racing reward out of it.  Thanks in advance Ryan if it is still okay.

Co-driver spot taken, no prob Jimmy.  It's unfortunate you couldn't get your car together due to the unfortunate events.  See ya Saturday, hopefully it doesn't rain!!!!

Re: May 4th WAI Event at Miller Park?

Craig and I won't be out on Saturday--looks like a strong maybe for Sunday.  We got our rebuilt Koni back from Truechoice.  Also had to tackle a rounded lugnut and bad stud on RR.  Won't have time to cornerweight again...hope at least a basic alignment can get done.  Still have the front axle/CV/diff noise too...

...sure sucks when work gets in the way of play.Cool

    congrats to you!

I too am joining that club - in fact I'll miss Chicago region #4 & TSSCC#4 to tie the big knot.

Hopefully, I'll get her to co-drive!
