    Class / Numbering Options

Total noob question here......so I was thinking some magnetic stick-ons...but o wait, my 'Vette is all fiberglass.....now what?

Any 'vette drivers care to chime in on what they have done for this?  Going to hit the Chicago Region's first event his weekend....would rather not look all tacky with taped numbers.

     Thanks!

Click on the Solo Time/Solo Performance advertisement at the top of the page and check out the static cling numbers.  Many Corvette and Elise drivers use static cling numbers.

K&Magnetics should be there Sunday, he carries numbers for your vette. I'd call to make sure he brings what you need

If you didn't get hooked up w/ K & M at the event, look us up at www.solotime.com or sales@soloperformance.com.  We have both static cling and reusable vinyl for non metallic cars and can help you out.

I have the same problem with the Elise.  Tried a set of low tack adhesive vinyl numbers and even thoroughly cleaning the car and making sure the numbers were flat some junk still got underneath and they lost enough tack around the edges to not stay well so I tossed them.

I borrowed an idea from a fellow Elise owner and made a powerpoint slide with 10" numbers and printed it at FedEx Kinkos on 11X14 paper.  Then I used their self lamination machine and laminated the paper (8 mil thick).  Total cost was about 8 bucks for both sides and I will blue tape it to the car.  It's water proof and pretty sturdy and should last for seasons.

I'll second the removable/reusable vinyl option.  I had a showroom stock road race car that I actually drove on the street, and I used the removeable/reusable vinyl for my numbers and stickers for a couple of seasons and they still worked great.

Can of spray paint, cops love it.

Solotime static cling, but you have to put it on with water the night before and use a creditcard to smooth it out and get the excess water out.

    Good luck.

    Re: Class / Numbering Options

In a pinch, and no duct tape available, then you could always go into the men's restroom at a local highway gas station, and get several colored condoms------they should be able to stretch to roughly 10".  Now a days they come in crazy colors which would make very noticeable numbers.

But as far as making them stick on the car you are on your own-----I know a way they could stick, and you could have fun doing it---but even I won't go there.

    Re: Class / Numbering Options

If you are very artistic, there may be some temporary paint out there - maybe Duplicolor.  I don't know if this will work on a painted surface without problems.  I like the idea of coming up with different lettering styles every weekend, as long as it works without washing off in the rain or staining the body paint.

    Good luck!
