    Re: Texas National Tour

I think the Marriott rates were only good up until a certain point.  The pertinent info is in the main thread.

    dboyles:
What's the hotel situation looking like? I checked scca.com and got links to the Sleep Inn and to the Marriott. The former looks like it's booked up for the weekend (understandable). The Marriott site is telling me that the SCCA discount code isn't valid for that date range (check in 5/2, check out 5/4). Is that because the block of rooms is full, or should I pick up the phone and call?

I made my reservation a few weeks ago at the Sleep Inn, but I had to call in.  Online was a bust for both....

    Re: Texas National Tour

For those who are still looking for a room for the Ft Worth Tour:

Texas Region has convinced Marriott to reserve 10 more rooms at the special SCCA National Tour rate of $89.

    Link to Hotel:

    http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/dalwl-dallas-fort-worth-marriott-solana/?groupCode=SCCSCCA&app=resvlink

To make sure you get the special rate, your best route is to call the reservation number!

Act fast if you want a room there because the road racer bunch are also having an event at the Speedway the same weekend.

    Re: Texas National Tour

Well damn, I was traveling and didn't see Brad's note about the rooms. I called tonight and they're all gone. Regular rooms are still available, but much more expensive. Sleep Inn is booked up. Anybody have a room at either that they're considering giving up?

Give me a day here.  We might be able to get another block of rooms opened up with the special rate!

    Re: Texas National Tour

Some additional news pertaining to the Texas National Tour:

The National Staff has decided to waive the late fees for the Texas Tour registration. So, all you procrastinaters & Income Tax refugees have 5 more days to enter the Tour!

But, Friday evening May 2nd at the event site is the absolute last chance you have to enter the event!

No new entries will be accepted after 7:00pm Friday night!!

Also, if you need additional meal tickets for the Saturday party, tickets will be available at registartion on Friday night & Saturday before dinner.

Additional tickets are $15 each & include the all you can eat BBQ, Beer & Margaritas. Plus, it will also count as an extra ticket for the raffle.

If people need additional Saturday meal tickets, we need to know in advance so we can let the caterer know before Thursday!!

    Please email me at: autoxmax@tx.rr.com

This only pertains to the Saturday dinner. Friday's welcome party is open to all.

Hey Chris!  I hope you can make it out!  Would love to have another RX-8 in the region.  We have a very close class as it sits with 4 cars all vieing for contention.

I don't think Thomas Hiramoto has a co-driver.  You can find him on the local miata forum. http://forums.dfwmiata.com/ "Miatamoto" is his name.

His car is fully prepped.  And he was only about .3 seconds behind me at the last local event.  Defintely a good driver and a cool guy to boot.

I desperately want to attend but am running out of options on how to get tires there as my codriver backed out on me. Anyone have a spare set of elise/exige wheels with a set of A6s sitting around in Dallas that I could rent for the weekend?

Brian, post that on the Lotus Forum.  Most of the Elise drivers are lurking or posting there.  Another thing you might do is overnight two of the wheels to Scott or David, and put the other two in your front seat.  Too bad I didn't get you those surfboard racks yet. Stick out tongue  You could drive there like this:

If you want to see partying, stop by the Texas Spokes Biergarten.  Legendary stuff there.  Might even have some classic car movies playing.

A possible solution is in the works for my tire situation so hopefully there will be at least one more entry in SS.

    Thanks for the advice Jer.

So does that mean spokes will be showing up for the food only Andy? Leaves more Shiner keg and margarita's for the rest of us!
