In the last year or so we've had an influx of folks who have since become regulars, and one of the topics that is coming up increasingly often is that of getting more folks trained in what it takes to run events. I'm going to miss a few events this year so I need to recruit someone to handle some specific duties. But beyond that, I'd like to let some new folks get more involved.
One specific thing that we're looking for help with is the web site. If this is something that really interests you, send me a resume (seriously) - it doesn't have to be formal, just tell me what you know and what you've done. The salary is a whopping $0/hr, but if you've ever wanted to improve the site here's your chance. The site is running on a Linux box with some scattered PHP and a Postgres database.
I also need a volunteer to help out with event registration. That includes online registration, Columbus base access lists, and morning-of-event registration. It's a very important job, for obvious reasons.
If you're interested, email me at dboyles[at]gmail[dot]com and let me know how you'd like to help out. I'll get back in touch with one or two people who fit the bill and we'll go from there.
