Meh, I am not a big fan of Formula "Un"...Mostly because there really is no parody at all in the sport...It is pretty much the same 1 or 2 drivers for the same 1 or 2 teams that win everything....and the other thing that turns me off about the "Un" is that there is very little full-speed live-action passion during the races...
I am uaully more into the sports car and rolex type series myself...

GO BMW!! Second place, great result, they might actually win a race this year. Ferrari had a terrible day.
I like the ban on traction control, the drivers actually have to drive the cars again.
F1 is as much about engineering and design as it is about on-track racing. It's pretty much always been that way, although the FIA is slowly turning it into a very expensive spec series. I say just set the dimensions and the safety specs the cars must meet and then turn the designers loose. I'd like to see V-8's, V-10's, V-12's, flat 12's, turbo 4's all racing, just like the good old days.

Here Here! I second that opinion. I just caught the replay of the Australian GP. What a crazy race. Still not enough on track passing though, except for all the cars passing Raikonnen every time he drove off track.

but Craig, remember, they are trying to make the series more affordable. they want to bring costs to only 100 million or so for a full season. I mean, the way you said it, F1 seems to be just about money just bring uselessly thrown at the sport so the cars will go faster, and that's certainly not so!!! *cough* Toyota *cough*

Yeah, Kimi threw it off at least twice, didn't he.

nighthawksi04:If by awesome you are referring to the cars and not the racing. I think the ALMS 12 Hours of Sebring today was better than most of the Formula 1 races I've seen.
Sebring was good. What happened to the Pugeot? I watched the first hour and they were dominating, and then I came back several hours later and they were way down. I never heard what happened. I saw where the Audi's had some reliability issues, unusual for them.
I think the ALMS is the best pro racing series around. Cool cars and good racing. If you've never been to the Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta, it's definately worth a trip. The grid is open before the race, and you can meet all the drivers and get an up close look at the cars. We talked to Bobby and Graham Rahal last year. The paddock is open all during the race, and you can stand just behind the pits and see all the action.

What I saw was hydraulic problems. Then they just turned it into a twelve hour testing session. Saturday was great, 10 hours in front of the TV watching Sebring. I turned it off for Bristol NASSCAR practice. Also, F1 season was awesome, until both Ferrari's retired due to fuel problems. Definitely going to have to make it to the Petit LeMans this year if it's that open!

That Bobby Rahal guy was seen wandering around the BSP grid in Kansas back in September

noR:I was pretty disappointed by the F1's last weekend.
22 start, 6 finish?!? hah. I was glad to see Toyota had 2 cars in the top 9... maybe that shows they're up to something. Or maybe it was just a result of the race of attrition that it turned out to be.
And wow, BMW lookin' to step up eh?
Yay ALMS.
Ditto on the ALMS comment. As for only 6 finishers in F1, two-thirds of those that dropped out were due to accidents or driver error due to lack of traction control. It was a very entertaining to watch!
