    96' Impala SS
    GM B-body @ 4300+ lbs
    Fully built 358ci / 5.86 Liter LT-1 stock stroke NA - factory engine just .045 over
    Fully built automatic - factory trans
    Fully built mostly billet adjustable suspension
    Kumho 710's or Nitto 555s depends on my mood

    Ususally when I show up they don't know what to put me in at the sign in table.
    The car is pretty quick on track, from the events I have attended.
    I have been in FModified at two SoCal SCCA events in the past??

    I have been told on sccaforums: NC  ESP CP SM 

    I don't even know what that means, yet.

    Anyone in SoCal wanna help me out show me the ropes?
    Need to get the car / my driving evaluated and have some fun.

    Anything internal on the engine other than an overbore and port matching automatically moves a car to SM, I believe.  So if you have a cam and/or head work, that's where you go.  The easiest way to get into CP is to strip the interior or start cutting on the unibody/frame, depending on what your car has.  Replacing a K-member is a no-no for SM.  I'm assuming NC means novice class, and since that's not an actual national class you'd just have to ask the local guys what their rules are like for that class.

    What ever happened to the displacement limit in SM? I'm sure there used to be one, and it does make reference to it section 16 of the rules ("see displacement limit in appendix A"), but htere's nothing in Appendix A.

     no displacement limit in SM anymore. to the OP, you can run SM for fun. ESP is out, and CP is a possibility. if you plan on gutting the car, CP will be the way to go. besides, you prob stand a better chance of winning CP then SM... Stick out tongue
