What Sizes Does Kumho Need?
If Kumho was to introduce say 6-7 new sizes to the new V710 line-up, what sizes would you add?
Please list the sizes you see as a hole in the current line-up, and prioritize it from top to bottom. Extra credit for cars/class that use each size in your list. Results will be tabulated and forwarded to the right people at Kumho, I promise. I have already done this, and they have asked for more input from the solo community. A link to the current sizes is below:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Kumho&model=ECSTA+V710
Single size requests for your extra-special, gotta-have-it size will generally be ignored, so kindly put some thought into it with regard to all classes, not just your FSP 1968 MG!

Re: What Sizes Do You Need?
"I" don't need them at this time but something that compares to the 275/15 Ho-ho could be useful in many classes. That size kind of changed the landscape this last year..
A 225-45or40-15 could be better than the 50 series that exists now. For some cars anyhow.
I like my 245-35-18's but a slight width increase(285's are a big jump) would be great for CS Solsti and RX8's assuming the new 8 isn't faster and has 19's. AS Solsti need about a 265-50?-18 for gearing help but I can't think of another car that would need that....
Hmmmm....I will keep thinking. Thanks in advance! FM Edit: What Glen/Jason said about the 265(I prefer 35 series) could work on the CS Solsti' and RX-8's including the other cars Jason quoted.. Might not be ideal on the GXP ZOK's though. Also, I agree with Jason on the Elise/MS-R etc sizing of the 17. MX5 cup might like it better too?

Re: What Sizes Do You Need?
265/40R18 (although I'd settle for 265/35R18) 285s work well, but are a pain to get mounted.

Re: What Sizes Do You Need?
I would think your best bet would be to see what holes Kumho has VS the other guys. Also keep in mind us autocrossers are for sure the minority, so I bet tire sizes that fit into club racing and solo would get the nod first. Keep in mind club racing allows cars in Touring to go down in diameter, and nearly all can go up to +20mm over OE width and a 10% aspect ratio change.
My partial list for a few cars/sizes for club race and solo, I sure there are many others.
245-40-17, Elise, Pre '08 StiEvo, S2K, RX-8, NC MX-5, various older P cars and BMW's,
265-35-18, '08+ StiEvo, RX-8, 350Z, Shelby, various P cars, BMW rears, nonZ06-C6 front?
245 and 265-19, '09 RX-8, '07+ 350Z, nonZ06-C6 rear? BMW?, various P cars.

Re: What Sizes Do You Need?
I want 245/40-17 for my S2000, and I'm currently getting it by running the Hoosier tires. So are all the Elise folks. You don't hear a lot said about Kumho over at the Elise forum. In the fall season of the the past three years, there have been rumors that Kumho was going to make 245/40-17 as a new size. Rumors like that don't get started if there's nobody interested in buying that size.

Re: What Sizes Do You Need?
Sorry, don't know about the needs of other cars/classes, but as has already been stated: a 275/15 like the Hoosiers. And actually, a 295/15 (on an 11" rim) would work very well for the high powered smaller cars, a.k.a., SM2.- to put on the rear. Yes, running a front/rear bias - 275s in front, 295s in the rear.

Re: What Sizes Do You Need?
315/30-18 is a good size, would be great on the back of a SS Z06, front of a SS Viper, and all over on the bigger SP cars. If the new 305 were nice and wide (and available) that one is moot.
A 345 or 355 /30 or /25-19 would be good too on the back of a C6 Z06, ZR1, Viper, and the back of high-power ASP cars. The extra thermal capacity would be great on something like a GT2.

Re: What Sizes Do You Need?
There's a big need for WIDE tires in the 23"OD range. To compete with Hoosier: 225/45-15 275/35-15 Something like 245/40-15 would be nice, too.

Storz:245/40/15 please

And a 225/45/15, the 225/50/15 is too tall.

Don't forget this thread... http://sccaforums.com/forums/thread/267537.aspx I'll reiterate, a wider 15" or at least a shorter 225. Van
