    BMW 3 series I believe.

so for STX and STU heavier vehicles its potentially similar performance to the Neova but with a lower price tag.

Can't wait to see how the early side by side testing goes!

I've been around long enough to know that whena company claims a less-than-top-performer as their beatable benchmark then it's likely they won't be the top performer ...

Looks like the new Kumho won't be an option for STS2

The Ecsta XS will be available in the 2nd half of 2008.  The XS will be manufactured in 17 and larger wheel diameter sizes.

    Thanks again for your support,

I spoke with a very helpful lady at Toyo today.  There are about 7 sizes of the R1R available right now and many more will be released at the beginning of next year.  I've been around long enough to realize that in marketeer-speech, this could mean as late as March.

    Re: Kumho>Bridgestone?

general consensus is that the kumhos are coming out in 17" sizes and up, so they wouldn't do a lot of good for most of the STS/2 crowd

Well, after talking to several "big" Toyo dealers and being told these tires don't exist, I went to a local tire shop.  The guy there made some calls and found out they haven't gone out to distributors yet but are sitting in a warehouse somewhere.  The ware house guy offered to have them drop-shipped for $6 per tire so I jumped on it.

How much were the tires? Did you measure the treadwidth?

Am i correct that they are 195/50/15?  Are your wheels 15x6.5 or 15x7?  Let us know!

Yeah.  195/50/15 on 15x7.5 wheels.  I didn't measure the tread but I'll try and do that and get a pic up at some point.  Price was $130/tire mounted & balanced.

OK.  I measured the tread and it looks to be just about 7.5 inches.  Kinda hard to tell from a pic but here ya go anyway:

well that's interesting.  Those are some pretty solid sized tread blocks.  Who'll be the first to do some winter testing on these bad boys? :p

Whoa those fit pretty nice on 7.5 wheel.  Thanks for taking the time for the pix and info!  I know that  http://www.aimtire.com/  has these tires.  They say AIM is having a introduction price of $99 for 195/5015.  Let us know how they are if you are doing testing!

I won'd be able to to much in the way of testing.  It'll have to wait until the Dixie tour in February.

Anyone know what the 7 available sizes are currently for the R1R?  I'm looking for 205/45/16 and 245/40/17 before I just pull the trigger on the RE-01R.
