Are the maps posted online like most Tours?  What's the initial reaction of the 2007 courses from the early arrivers? The lack of web chatter about the event is nearly agonizing

Interesting -- it's a return to the curvy South course / transitiony North course model.  Well, except for the fact that they're both transitiony.

Well, after the no slalom sweeper-happy Pro courses, us under-powered speed maintenance cars deserve some love. 

 

Actually, after doing about 10 course walks, I think there are enough straights and sweepers, especially on the West course, to make the HP guys very happy.  I just hope it friggin RAINS tomorrow, all day.  Let it pour!  heh heh heh

These courses look and walk fantastic.  apex cones?  what apex cones?  two thumbs up to Roger and Karen, i'm really looking forward to how fun these courses are laid out.

From what I've seen online with those course maps and the scca forum videos I just saw of 2 competitors driving them, they look alot better and faster than last year's. 2 bad I couldn't make it.

I think overall I liked them better.  Both were fun to drive.  Certainly a lot of diversity between the courses.

The west course did have a couple of things I didn't like.  The start slalom is excessively tight (first 3 cones looked close to min distance), and the offset/window (outer space section) is way too narrow.  It must have looked really small to the CP guys.  Neither part was really bad to drive, but tended to increase cone counts which doesn't help anything.

I really wanted to run the "Airport Strip" in the dry. Just stand on the gas for the finish and hope to not hit anything.

First walk through on Karen's and I was underwhelmed. Second walk through (and memorization) I liked it a lot. The finish sweepers where very challenging. That's what they should be.
