275/35-15 Hoosiers on EF Honda Civic

I see that Rodney is running the Hoosier A6 275/35-15's on his '92-'95 Civic but I haven't seen any on an EF ('89-'91) Civic. I'm going to SM next year and would like to run these tires on the front but not if I have to carve up the fenders. I'm hanging out more on the 'Street' side of Street Mod so stock fender openings are important to me. Fenderwells are fair game though.

So has anyone tried these tires on say, 15x10 Diamonds with maybe a 5" BS on an EF?

Rodney had to modify his wheel openings, and the EF has smaller openings than the EG.  I'm going to be running them, but I'm counting on carving up the fenders to do so.

dave is right. the eg is easier then the ef when it comes to clearance. i am in the process of building an ef that i will be running the 275's on. also, the janusz/kugler civic is running 275's on a 10 as well, but good luck getting info from them... lol

co-incidentally, i have a pair of 275's for sale. they have 34 runs on them (Devens tour, NE divisionals, and one local e-town event) $250+shipping. :)

Big thanks to Rodney for the pair of tires he sold to me.  I now have my Spin Werkes 15x10 wheels and have them mounted up.  Huge difference in width (duh).  It looks so wicked.  I will have the car on the ground soon and aligned within the week and I will have my first test on them this weekend.  It should be fun.  Pics and opinions to follow.

The 15x10" SPin Werkes wheels with a 4.5" backspace wrapped with the 275-35-15's stick out 3" from the fender.  So far, the back of the front bumper needs to be massaged, the top of the fender well needs to be cut and the back of the fender well has to be trimmed up as well.  More to come...

If your looking for rims whit the right backspace for an EF try this guy; www.949racing.com  A 15x10 with a 5' back space didn't cut if, car was way to wide.

Re: 275/35-15 Hoosiers on EF Honda Civic

I am selling a pair (2) of 15x10" Spin Werkes Series 82 wheels (4x100), 4.5" backspace wrapped with the 275-35-15 Hoosier A6 heat cycled.  There have been 3 events on the wheels and two events on the tires.   Nothing wrong with them, just changing directions with the car.  Wheels will fit some BMW's, Miata and Civics.  Prefer to sell the wheels and tires mounted together.  Asking $1000 shipped.

I also have a pair of the front fenders from an EF honda that I massaged to get the wheels to fit.  asking $60 shipped.

Pics are available.  email at mdeclercq@bex.net.  do not PM.

Re: 275/35-15 Hoosiers on EF Honda Civic

    Gentlemen,

I am wheel dealer for Bogart Racing wheels.  I have already done my homework (research and development) on this exact application for the EF Ciivics and have a wheel that works perfectly for this model. It is a 15 X 10 with a 5-1/2" backspace. My price on this Bogart wheel is: $480 per wheel, plus shipping (and taxes if located in Texas).

Please let me know if I can be of service to you.

    Thank you.

    Luis Moreno

     P.S.

*This wheel setup (with a 5-1/4" backspace) works perfectly well for the 1984 - 87 Civics and CRX's.

That's great! Now everyone can get the SpinWerkes with 5.25" backspace at just $249 a wheel. Yes, not as light as a Bogart....but at 50% of the cost....it's hard to ignore.

Ours have 6" of backspace and have passed the test fitment. Waiting for tires now....(well money for tires).
