The autocross at Columbus Air Force Base on May 12 will be a single-day event to give everybody a chance to get back for mother's day. But we'll give you a fast, fun course and as many runs as we can reasonably get in.

To attend this event, you must submit a base access form by noon on Sunday, May 6.  These can be found on the web site under the Events section. mbaf73.xls is the form that you need to complete and send in. People and cars not on the list will not be permitted on base, period. Don't procrastinate on this - send your form in ASAP.

I am about to send mine in. Let me go get my truck's tag number and find out my blood type and I will trace my family history back to the 1800's. Then I can send it to you.

 

 

Just kidding about all that blood type stuff. I know it is security and all. I just had to.

It looks like we'll be clear of rain until the afternoon, and even then it's not a sure thing. Plan to arrive early(-ish) and we'll do our best to get the first car out ASAP. The gates will be open at 8:00 if you would like to help set up, and the course should be ready for walking by 9:30.

Before you head out the door, take a last look at the base access list above. If you're not on it, do NOT try to get on base. If you are on the list (which I'll have a copy of), you'll be fine.

I really needed those last 3 runs. I'm still a bit sore about not getting any clean runs and getting beat due to luck (the bad kind). anyway, what are the points looking like after the 3 drops?

This was my First Try to Race my car...I was just Learning the way it was layed out..I DNF all 3 times...I wish I had the other 3 laps...But stuff happends I guesss

Had fun, alittle on the warm side, but it was a good day.  To bad the timer messed up though.

that would have been a long drive for 3 minutes of track time and an hours worth of standing in the sun..  lol

i still have trouble, seeing 6 minutes of track time, being worth the money and drive.

cool. if the MR2 doesn't get fixed by Grenada, or if I don't have proper tires, I'm thinking about playing in the open tire class. the MR2 came with an extra set of Hoosiers, so I may use those. I've already missed to many events to compete with Kevin for points, so I may just go for wins throughout the year in the two different classes.
